Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo had no reason to show off major 1st party titles.

In the first two years of the Wiis life you got all of them. You got your Mario,Zelda,Metroid, and Brawl etc.

Why would Nitendo need to release a new game in those franchises so soon? If Nintendo released a new game in these series as often as you all want they would eventually lack the polish and freshness we all want them to bring.

Mario was just released why would you want them to announce another one so soon? People say TP wasnt original but you already want another one. If a new game in these series were released so soon and didnt amaze you, you would all be quick to bitch about it. You guys bitch if they dont announce and you bitch if theyre not what you expect. Have patience dammit. E3 confirmed already new Mario and Zelda titles are coming. They anounced 2 core titles. AC and Pimin. Kid Icarus I believe will be shown down the line somewhere.

What im trying to say is Nintendo delivired all the core titles you wanted. Now shut up and wait for the next ones which will be completly built for the ground up for Wii.

Nintendo is doing great right now and some people complained that the Wii didnt have 1:1 motion sensing. DONE
No Voice Chat.Done. A storage solution will come again this is confirmed. So again just WAIT.

This is probably the most important thing i wanna say. Everyone says third party games wont sell and that they dont take Wii serious.
In the next year its all in your hands. If games like The Conduit/MadWorld/Fatal Frame/GH:WT/Tales of Symphonia/Force Unleashed/ and CoD 5 dont sell you only have yourself to blame.
I may have missed some titles but w/e you get what Im trying to say. If these games dont sell than theres no bitching that third parties dont support Wii and I'll understand them completly because all of you demanding them dont even buy them.
No More Heroes already failed and so did Okami as a port.
(I didnt mention Arc Rise Fantasia/Disaster Day of Crisis/Fragile/Monster Hunter 3 because who knows when they'll come out)

This year is for third-parties so go and buy the third party games and give nintendo some time till there next announcement. They are answering your request (ie:voice chat) it may be slowly but they are still giving you what you want.

And if you can honestly afford all the core games Nintendo has released up until now then go buy the DS and play those games. Try out something new you spoiled brats.:P (Unless you actually worked for them)
So far I only can afford Brawl,RE4 and Twilight Princess. So I dont even care because I still need to play Galaxy/Corruption/Paper Mario/No More Heroes and more.

Arguments are welcome Id love to hear what you guys have to say and if you can give me reasons why I am wrong and all that :P

umm ok?

okami also failed on the ps2

NMH didint even get advertised or have lots of units shipped (thanks to ubisoft, what a great publisher)

the conduit and SW TFU will do good

tales is already doing well

COD3 almost did half a million, so COD5 will sell well cause the wiis user base will be bigger

i heard fatal frame didnt do well on the ps2

I agree with your point, but I disagree that they have released all of them. They released about a quarter of them. Not to mention TP was a port, which means we have yet to get the real wii zelda. . They did release some of the biggest ones though.

Valkytia00, you are wrong. Nintendo has not released all of their franchises. You seem to be forgetting:

Animal Crossing (confirmed), Pikmin (confirmed), Star Fox, F-Zero, Kirby, Kid Icarus, Punch Out and A LOT More!

Besides, Iwata said that the Mario and Zelda teams ARE working on new titles.

I know thats why I meant by being made for the Wii ground up.

They released all the ones that are still alive. People need to give up an Punch out and Earthbound. Nintendo has explictly said they are not making any more Earthbound games. At least anyone who thinks theyre making one this gen are in for a disappointment.

They haven't released or announced the ones I'm interested in. I want Punch-Out!!, 1080 Snowboarding, F-Zero, Wave Race, Diddy Kong Racing, 2D platformers like Donkey Kong. And where are the new IPs? Their Wii series is a great idea and has brought loads of people into gaming, but I want old style games too. The 2D Wario platformer looks good but it sounds like it's going to make you use motion controls and I'd much prefer to use a Gamecube pad for that type of game.

The only 1st party games I've got this gen are Wii Sports, Wii Play, Warioware and Mario Kart. Zelda, Mario and Metroid are great games but they're not must-buys for me personally. I prefer 2D to 3D when it comes to platform and adventure games so 3D stuff is rarely top of my list. Mario Kart and Brawl are the only ones I'm really pleased about as racing and fighting are my favourite genres.

Dude I listed those!

And I said that!

There is a bit of hope for Star Fox.
F-Zero isnt gonna happen as long as Miyamoto doesnt want it to happen. Punch out is dead.

And when i said "wait" I meant wait for more of their franchises not just the ones I mentioned. We all know kirby is coming to the Wii.

Actually they have yet to release F-Zero, Wave Race Starfox, Donkey Kong(Announced), Kirby(ANnounced Kinda), Pikmin 3(Announced), and a Wii specific Zelda. Not to mention many franchises that have made their appearance on the DS may make their it on the WII also. OH and there are tons of smaller ones too. Kid Icarus is very likely. I do agree with the OP though.

Besides, it's not so much that Nintendo didn't announce their 1rst party AAA games for the Wii. I was really looking forward to hearing about some major 3rd party game in development like KH3, the game that's being made by Factor 5, something from, Capcom. Those are the real letdowns.

The second thing that really made me feel bad was that Nintendo even on the closed session didn't see fit to even make a short presentation of 3rd party games that will b coming out for the Wii this year(which would be seen as good titles worthy of purchase).

They really are just.....well....totally not showing any kind of love to the more core owners of the Wii. And while i will buy Wii sports: resort and Maybe Wii music,
I hate games with no real goal set within them. Animal Crossing is the perfect example of such games. By no means is it a core title. Why ? It doesn't offer anything the likes of a gaol you must reach. Bummer.

Huh. Who would've thought that beggining anew in my real life would coincide with starting anew on vgchartz?

Any day now, the dollar will be worth less than 2 zloty......any day now.....and my life savings will be in total jepordy ;(.

Most of the most vocal people that bitch about this stuff (or more characteristically, bring it up constantly) aren't Nintendo fans. They're trolls who like to spread Fear, Uncertainty and Disinformation (FUD). I don't even read most of it because I've put them on my ignore list.

Regardless, Nintendo seems to be sticking with the strategy of announcing games around 2-3 months before they're released. The big exception seems to be Wii Resort Sports, but that may have been because they also wanted to show off the Motion Plus attachment.
