I finally got tired of this PC not being able to play any newer games cause of how old and bad it is, so I decided to get a Ps3 or 360, and I'm having having a reaally hard time deciding which to get, and I got a few questions to ask:

1:  Which controller is preferred by the majority?

I thought I was gonna hate the 360 controller, but I ended up liking it abit. I actually have a 360 now, but it hasn't been 30 days yet so I can still refund it. I've never touched a ps3 and I've only tried the 360 for about 15 days now. One thing that's bothered me alot is most FPS's seem to use the right antalog stick to aim while using the left one to move. Do ps3 shooters usually use the D-pad or left antalog stick to move? One thing that really interested me about ps3 is the option to use a mouse and keyboard, which I'm really used to. Do all games support it and does it work well? When it comes to FPS and RPG's, is there a controller that's considered "better"? Those 2 are definitely my favorite genres. Most games I play are FPS though.

2:  Main differences between XBL and PSN?

I've been told by pretty much everyone that XBL is better. What exacly does it have over PSN? No matter which console I get, all I'm really gonna be doing is gaming so extra features that arn't really gaming-related don't really interest me.  When it comes to having easy ways to find matches and a basic friends list, does XBL really have a big edge over PSN?

3:  Mod Support

Easily the thing I loved most about PC gaming were used-made mods. It kept me playing some old games for a pretty long time. I saw a video about XBL vs. PSN and they seemed like complete opposites when it came to user-made mods: XBL doesn't really accept them so players won't have any advantages and because of legal issues. PSN welcomed them, and if I remember right, they actually encouraged it (I might be getting mixed up with a vid I saw about UT3).

4:  Installations?

I think I read somewhere that you actually have an option to install your games on the PS3 instead of using the disc....is this true or did I read somethin wrong? I also heard about installing times with MGS4.....since I've never seen or touched a ps3, can someone fill me in?

5:  Popularity?

The 360 is winning in sales from what I'm seeing, but I keep reading that the PS3 has been outselling it recently. Is this true? I usally never keep track of sales stuff but I got a little more into it when I was deciding which to get. Since I might end up playing online alot, having whichever is more popular would be nice.

6:  Which will be the better choice as the years go by?

I've heard alota people say that the ps3 is always getting better and better and that it hasn't really reached it's full potential. Right now, I've been told by many that the 360 is a better buy when it comes to gaming, but I've also been told that I might eventually prefer a ps3 in the future. This is one of the big things that makes me think about getting a ps3. I want whichever console will end up lasting longer. It's been a few years since each have been released and I feel a little late to get a 360. I've heard a rare few say that the 360 has pretty much reached it's limit....is this true? I definitely want something that will continue to stay good for at least another 2-3 years. The Blu-Ray thing is probably the argument I hear most for ps3, which doesn't interest me since I'm buying a console for pretty much nothing but gaming.

7:  What's your personal preference?

2.on playing online they are the same,,,some times PSN is better for mulltiplayer as each game has a dedicated server unlike Xbox live ,,,plus PSN is %100 free.(50$ for x live/year)
3.the only example of top of my ehad is unreal tournament III where PSN has mod support but x box live does not offer mod support feature

4.some parts of (some) games are installed (not the whole game)to improve the performance on PS3,,,,,xbox will get a feature later to install the whole game on the hard drive .

5.ps3 has been outselling 360 for the past 7 months or so on weekly basis.(360 has a lead since it launched one year earlier than PS3)

6.with the firmware updates every month on PS3 and bluray tech It's safe to assume that PS3 is moer future proof since developer will learn how to optimize the bluray and put big games on it.

7.I bough a PS3 7 months ago and I love it(I also own a PS1 and Xbox)

Out of the two, I would say go with the PS3, based on your preferences. Honestly though, what you really seem to want is nothing more than a PC upgrade, and you'd be happiest with one. If you can shell out the dough, I would recommend you stick with the PC, because neither console is going to give you much of what you're asking for.

There you go. Look for the system with the most games you like! xD Thats the main thing now if you like both controllers.

1. It uses the Analog stick. I think most games (both systems) allow you to reverse what the left and right sticks do, if that was an issue for you. I prefer the 360 controller because it fits better in my hand...so i consider it better.

3. The only game im aware of that does it is UT3(ps3). Although LBP(ps3) will have user created content as well. The 360 has the XNA thingy where people can create games and share them, its subscription based though and im not sure what it costs.

4. Some ps3 games have mandatory installs at the beginning and periodically throughout the game. I think they are 3-5 GBs. The 360 will be adding a feature where you have the option to install the whole game(disc still required for play)/

 I actually kinda do prefer PC gaming, but the costs of those upgrades are way too much. With the money it takes to get a good gaming PC, I could get a console and new TV (the one I have is horrible). I already wasted $400+ on graphics cards. The first one didn't fit on my PC (I never resold it since I planned on using it, but never did). The other 2 both randomly fried within about 2 years. Not being able to play with others when they come over also kinda sucks. It's been years since I've had a good ol' 4-player match. Not having to worry about whether your PC will be able to handle newer games is really nice for a change, but there's lots of things about pc gaming that I like over consoles.

What made the PS3 start selling more?

And slightly off topic, but the first game I'm getting if I get a ps3 is MGS4 and I was wondering,  how is it when playing online? I was watching a vid of it on YouTube and someone described it as "more stealthy" compared to other shooters....that kinda caught my attention.  I really hate online FPS's where you can run widly out in the open and get easy kills.
