I am curious why all the hate for Avatar thing.  It's for the casual crowd and family. It's free if you don't want to use it then don't it's not like Microsoft is forcing you to.  The netflix and video viewing option looks great.  It can sure used a little more tweak but so far the new interface look pretty slick.

I really like it and gotta say recently my 360 hasn't been switched on but after yesterday it's my Wii thats gonna be ignored for a long time.

MS, the new dashboard, the community goings on have got me right it again. Now gonna buy NG2 tomorrow and get some XBArcade points.

And by the way I think most of the hate actually does not come from 360 owners...

I don't think most of the hate is coming from 360 owners. Its not hurting them at all, if they don't want to mess with them they don't have to. The 8 person private chat is the most welcomed addition in my book.

That's like saying DOS was fine or XMB was fine. Continued addition and improvement is a sign that Microsoft is not resting on its laurel and continued wanting to improve Live and Xbox 360 experience.

May be not all their efforts are successful or even a good idea but not doing anything and wait for you competitor to catch up is probably the worst thing any company could do.
