Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: 'How can hardcore gamers feel left out? You have Animal Crossing'

"Nintendo’s E3 press conference had some highlights. Overall, however, Nintendo presented a very limited number of “hardcore” games. There was no new Zelda title, barely any mention of Mario, and even the upcoming Wario Land was absent. Reggie Fils-Aime on the other hand, strongly believes that Nintendo has enough games at this year’s E3 to support the core gamer. In a brief interview on G4 following Nintendo’s media briefing, Fils-Aime explained, “How could you feel left out? The Animal Crossing that we’ve been hearing about that people wanted. Fully connected to the Internet, go to other people’s towns. Plus as I said, Grand Theft Auto on the DS. How do you feel left out with those types of announcements?”

Fils-Aime also commented about Kid Icarus for Wii, but essentially dodged the subject: “You know, we never said he was coming.

Animal Crossing is hardcore, confirmed by Nintendo.

That's the thing. A hardcore gamer can play anything, but we'd like games that actually fit the traditional definition of hardcore.

I've never tried Animal Crossing, but I seriously doubt you could have a "hardcore" playing session.

Shameless you never have anything good to say about Nintendo so honestly why bother? Furthermore it's already been posted.

Animal Crossing is dope. But hardcore it is not.

ya I hope they know that Animal Crossing does not equate a game like Resistance.

I never have anything good to say about any of the three companies. Nintendo are just giving me the most material at the moment.

It doesn't have to be rated M or anything...but something more suited to the core audience, besides Animal Crossing, would have been good.

A trailer for a new Zelda, Star Fox, Pikmin...Animal Crossing will be fun I'm sure, though it doesn't look revolutionary at all.

I'm more excited about third parties than Nintendo's offerings at the moment.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

If you are upset, I hope you are upset in the way this thread intends, not because I 'insulted' poor little multi-national monopoly Nintendo.

I hated Shameless at first too, but now I think he's awesome.
