The reason PS3 fans were saying that the PS3 would certainly have 15 million first and maybe even 16 million first is that they thought MGS 4 would have significant impact on sales rather than a small impact on sales.

You're totally right, MGS4 is a disapointment if you think of hardware sales. It has only be good one week... I really hoped it would have been better. GTA 4 is also a disapointment on both consoles in term of hardware sales.

360 will be around 25 million when PS3 hits 20 million.

With clearance of 20GB 360 Pro's and Sony announcing that come September $399 unit will have 80GB drives the 360 should out sell the PS3 by a good margin the remainder of the summer in NA. I also expect that come October MS will announce price reduction across the board. No PS3 software will cause a shift in sales the remainder of this year.

360 fans will grasp for any sort of achievement now...

Anyone with sense knew the 360 would pass 20 million before the PS3 would pass 15 million. The PS3 started the year with 6 million to achieve its goal whereas the 360 only had to sell 4 million (rough estimations).

If it gives you joy, there's the knowledge that the PS3, week after week, is closing the gap between the two consoles.
