Forums - Nintendo - Whats left for Nintendo.

So far in the Wii's short life span Nintendo has already released or announced a game from most of it's core franchises.

Super Mario Galaxy (Super Mario Bros.)

Mario Party 8 (Mario Party)

Super Paper Mario (Paper Mario)

Mario Strikers Charged (Strikers)

Mario Super Sluggers (Baseball)

Wario Ware Smooth Moves (Wario Ware)

Wario Land Shake It (Wario Land)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Smash Bros.)

The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Zelda)

Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast (Donkey Kong)

Pokemon: Battle Revolution (Pokemon)

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Metroid)

Battalion Wars II (Famicom Wars)

Fire Emblem: Radian Dawn (Fire Emblem)

Animal Crossing: City Folk (Animal Crossing)

So what does that leave them with as far as theri established franchises go?

Mario Golf (prolly waiting on Wii Motion +)

Mario Tennis (prolly waiting on Wii Motion +)

Kirby (Rumors are flying but still nothing concrete)

Star Fox (No word on a Wii version, although its likely, prolyl with another peripheral, flight stick?)

F-Zero (Miyamoto said this wouldent work well on Wii)

1080 (If Ubisoft can)

Kid Icarus (Come on ppl they havent touched this since 91)

Pikmin (IMO, Miyamoto's next project after Wii Music ships)

So what I ask you is, has Nintendo pushed all it's franchises out the door to early?

KIRBY!!!!

I want.

Probably one of the titles I am looking forward to the most.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

^ me too

althoguh Star Fox would be very nice

Maybe...but even if it is true, it was neccesary...the why wouldn't have last long without the strong support from Nintendo...Do you think it would be safe to let third parties that job??? They barely support the console beign extremely succesful...

1   2   3  not only you and me.

Livin' in sin is the new thing.

Ice Climber

StarTropics

Yoshi

Pilot Wings

Custom Robo

Golden Sun

Soma Bringer

A.S.H

Kid Icarus

Wave Race

Eternal Darkness

Elite Beat Agents

Luigi's Mansion

Nintendogs

Batien Katios(and other Monolith games)

Now not all of those games will be brought back on the wii, but there are many that could. Nintendo has plenty left. ALso consider new ips like Disaster Day of Crisis.

So what I ask you is, has Nintendo pushed all it's franchises out the door to early?

^^(@sc94597)^^ He already had Kid Icarus on the list, and I don't think that Eternal Darkness is first party.

@OP:
There will be a second Zelda on the Wii in year 4 or 5 of the console's life. So we have that to look forward to. I'm sure there will also be a couple of new IPs from Nintendo that will surprise us.

I think that it is better to have the game available to buy than not at all. I can buy any of these games anytime I want, so I think that it is a good think that these games have been released.

As someone said before me, Nintendo could not count on third parties to support the Wii, so Nintendo had to do it themselves. As the Wii gets older, third parties will have had the time to develop quality games. The Conduit is coming soon, and I'm sure that other great games will be following. The DS followed a similar pattern during its early years.

Oops over looked that. The rights of Eternal Darkness are owned by nintendo along with the patent for the insanity meter.

A Wii Custom Robo would rule.

Kid Icarus (Come on ppl they havent touched this since 91)

Pikmin (IMO, Miyamoto's next project after Wii Music ships)

Zelda (Twilight Princess)

Donkey Kong ( Barrel Blast)

Advance Wars (Battalion Wars 2) < yes its the same series

Punchout (ok fine)

Pokemon (Battle revolution)

Ice Climber (This isint a series, it would be like ROB or Game & watch getting a game because of Melee)

StarTropics (dident think anyone would remember this one :) )

Yoshi (ok fine)

Pilot Wings (ok fine)

Custom Robo (usually JPN only)

Golden Sun (more likely on DS then Wii, but ok fine)

Soma Bringer (more then likely JPN only.....but I guess since its new)

A.S.H (Ill be honest. I dont now what this is)

Kid Icarus (I dont know if we'll be seeing this game to be honest, its like Ice Climbers and Star tropics they havent touched it in so long)

Wave Race (ok fine, althoguh I think Nintendo is much more happy making this a game in Wii Sports 2)

Eternal Darkness (fine)

Elite Beat Agents (more likely on Ds but ok)

Luigi's Mansion )(Actually yes I think this might happen)

Nintendogs (So many people play it on DS i dont know why they would bother with a Wii version when a DS one would sell so good, but...)

Batien Katios(and other Monolith games) (since id like to see this)

Now not all of those games will be brought back on the wii, but there are many that could. Nintendo has plenty left. ALso consider new ips like Disaster Day of Crisis. Yes but i was specific about it being about exisitng IP's

But Nintendo didn't develop Eternal Darkness.

Perhaps they need more people to develop games since third parties aren't stepping up and they seem to have a gap the 2nd half of this year.

Has anyone tallied up the total third party announcements for the Wii versus PS3 and 360 multiplats and exclusives? I remember someone wanted to make a bet with me about that...
