Forums - Nintendo - Yeah I admit it..I am dissapointed...

Yeah I have to admit I was expecting more of Nintendo's conference. They have been always famous for having some surprises under they sleeve.

But come on! Let's face it, ALL the conferences were lame and boring. They gave some "new" stuff here and there but nothing more. Sony's conferences were always lame and this time it wasn't the exception. If it wasn't for FF13 Microsoft's one woul dbe boring as well.

Have you read about the Electronic arts, squareenix and Ubisoft ones? They were pretty boring too.

Let's face it. E3 have became more a more small and unimportant. Last year was bad and this year was confirmed. Many other expos like GDC and TGS have became more important.

The old E3 is dead. Big companies just don't care. And this year they prove it, not only Nintendo but all of them.

Erm. *cough*

*crickets*

Nothing new here. Sorry. Still, I agree. All the conferences were bearly tolerable. E3 should just die.

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.

I just read Capcom's. It was the worst! Dx

Why exactly would it be good if we lost a vehicle for game reveals?

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

E3 is going downhill

I was hoping for the Wii-Motion Plus to be packed in with something a little more exciting than Wii Sports Resort. However, I'm sure it will be one of the top selling games of 2009. As for Wii Music......snore. I was mildly excited about it when I thought it was purely a conducting game ala Mad Maestro, but now that it's nothing more than an air band simulator requiring ZERO skill, I couldn't care less about it.

As for Sony and MS, I think Sony did a great job of announcing some interesting new software. Microsoft, on the other hand, proved that there is very little software of interest coming so they had to buy FF13. It's pretty clear to most people (at least to me) that the 360's best days are behind it.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

Seriously speaking, if companies really don't like E3 then leave it for the good and stop making us illusions. This is the worst E3 I've ever seen.

Can someone please explain to me when exactly this magical time existed when every new game was revealed first at E3 and then they all came out that same holiday season?

I've been following E3 for a while, and it's never been regularly full of huge announcements that made us all go nuts, especially the years in the middle of generations. When there's new hardware, E3 has been big. Otherwise, in terms of game reveals, most E3s have been like this year's show.

But they just announced games that we all knew they were coming! There was nothing great except for the Final fantasy 13 stuff. Otherwise it was very predictable.

The whole expo has becoming very dissapointing. Is obvious that E3 is more media oriented than gamer oriented nowadays.

Agreed.  Most of the game reveals we see anymore are devoid of much actual gameplay footage.  Take the GOW3 and MAG trailers.  All CGI.  If you can't show me gameplay, don't bother editing together a trailer.  Just announce the game is coming and leave it at that.  E3 is at its best when we are on the cusp of a new hardware cycle.
