Doesnt he also contribute a lot to other ips for Nintendo and second party games? Do you guys know any games that he was a major contributor?

Actually Miyamoto is also up for person of the year on Time Magazine, I believe you can vote on their website.

OK, I think the guy is great. But I wonder how much credit he is being given for the works of others at Nintendo. It's not like it's just him and Iwata working on things over there. It takes a lot of people to create and develop these games and I think some are being unfairly overlooked.

Seeing as its Miyamato, I certainly doubt that he's personally taking more credit than he deserves -- although it's possible others are GIVING him more credit than he deserves, whether he wants to take it or not.

This is really how all prizes work. Having been closely involved with Pulitzer prizes, every work that wins one is clearly the result of many people's work, but the lead developer (so to speak) always takes home the prize. Obviously, no book is written by a single person (they have artistic influences, as well as financial backers, publishers, etc), no movie made by a single person, and so forth.

So I'm not saying you're wrong, Steve, I'm just saying that's how all disciplines tend to work.
