so... the japanese don't look forward to original games?? Every game on there except lost odyssey is a sequel in some shape or form

What in your opinion is an original game? Different gameplay, story and/or characters? Because if it is you can count the final fantasy sequals as original game (the only thing relating them are certain themes and the titles). Gundam musou is a new take on gundam games. No one really knows how Biohazard 5, FFXIII versus, and Persona 3 are going to really look and play yet. The majority of amazing games we see on any console or PC has been done before., it is just the slight differences that make the game. Oh and so far lost odysseys's story sounds original but the gameplay looks as typical turn based JRPG as you can get.

sure you can add different things to the same genre, sports games are a testament to this. however... that being said, sequels are nice, but, for the same reason i wouldn't vote zelda or ffxiii as goty, i think us as gamers should encourage thinking outside the box and attempting new things... not make another game with chocobos..

I would definitely call Phantom Hourglass a new game as well, same for Dragon Quest swords. Monster Hunter(s) & Wii Smash Bros are very much sequels. Its hard for a "new" game to make the list, as its not established and most people don't know about it ;) Think about a list for the US - Halo 3, GTA, GT5, Killzone(?), Super Mario, Metroid, etc...

What troubles me for the ps3 is that despite having alot of games on this list and everyone saying wait till FF and Metal Gear get here then the ps3 will really sell, I don't believe these games will hit store shelves until late next year. And their solid release dates for this year are going to have to carry it. None of which are terribly strong. Yet I bet Monster Hunters 3 will sell really well I wonder when that will release, probably not until next year either. So they have a lot riding on Gundam Musou.

Just like to point out that just because a game is on the Most Wanted List doesn't make it a sales hit. The opposite can be true as well.
