Not sure how I feel about this. Will the 40gb see a clearance sale and disappear?

The 80gb MGS4 package sold out quickly because it had something the 40gb didn't ... Backwards Compatibility.

People still care about it, and Sony obviously still cares about the PS2. Over 100 more games coming out?

I can't believe they don't understand that BC is the appeal of the current 80 GB model, so I wonder what the deal is. Does BC make the PS3 THAT much more expensive?

I hope they keep some sort of BC model on the market. If not I am seriously disappointed in Sony.

Yea its a stupid decision...

Hopefully they will launch a 120gb or 160gb PS3 with BC...
OR they could have the 80gb with BC but only 2 USB ports and no media card slots...

Probably going to phase out the 40gb, and then release a 160gb.

Then have a $350-400 80gb basic model and a $450-500 160gb fully featured model. Basically to ensure they are one up on 360's sizes + bluray.

I could see that by holidays.

Unless they clearance the 40 gig why would anyone buy a 40 gig now? Just wait and get the extra 40 gig at the same price especially with all the games needing hardrive installs.

I must be crazy, because I liked it. I want to buy a PS3 (maybe I´ll do it in January) and I want to pay no more than $400.00. Since I don´t care at all about BC (yes, I really don´t), this is a victory for me. That´s because I´ll have twice the HDD for the same amount of money.

SO, big freaking win for me!!!!! :D :D :D :D
