http://www.edge-online.com/news/square-enix-shares-rise-ffxiii-xbox-360-reveal

Square Enix shares gained 5.2 percent, the biggest advance since May 22, to close at 3,250 yen on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, after the Japanese firm said that Final Fantasy XIII would be released on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 as well as Sony’s PS3, Bloomberg reports.

The announcement that the title will no longer be exclusive to PS3 in Europe and the US came at the end of Microsoft’s E3 press conference.

“Releasing an Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will allow us to provide the game to even more fans in the two regions of North America and Europe," said Square Enix president Yoichi Wada. "We are currently working hard on these two versions".

A release date for the title has not yet been announced

Already paying off for SE :)

And yesterday everyone was wondering whether SE lost 20 yen or 20% of their shares value :P.

Huh. Who would've thought that beggining anew in my real life would coincide with starting anew on vgchartz?

Any day now, the dollar will be worth less than 2 zloty......any day now.....and my life savings will be in total jepordy ;(.

Now you see this makes sense. I think they went out did a little research and saw that this actually made for a better investment(considering the 20% thing was real). No Versus will stay exclusive starcraft. (Though the thing to note on that is Versus is saw as a Spinoff and not as important to some people.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

If VS goes to 360....... I hate MS so much right now....

4 ≈ One

Let's hold our horses everyone.

No one even knows when Versus is coming out, and what position PS3 will be in when it happens. That applies to FFXIII though, as we don't have a solid release date, but an american release in 2010 is very likely. By then the PS3 could have made up immense ground on the 360.

I'm pretty sure that Versus will still be exclusive, as it's so far off in the horizon.

Good for SE. Please dont destroy me, however, I call myself a (Gamer) first. With SE and the FF series branching out it helps keep SE afloat. With large companies like EA, Blizzard, ect...I would hate for SE to get swallowed up and loose what we have grown to love.

FanBoyism asside, I think this is a great move to help for SE financially, as this thread has begun to proove. Now the Sony fans will disagree obviously. But the more people who get to experience this game the better.

If a game like say (Halo, though it is owned by MS) came to the PS3, to me that means more people would enjoy the series on both systems. Please dont start with the "Halo sucks, why would i want it on my PS3" crap.....I want to stick to the topic. But as a (Gamer) we would all have the chance to play the game.

In the long run SE made a decision that was best for the company. I love SE and want them to remain intact so by having it on X360 also they have accomplished precisely that!!

i thought yesterday they asid it fell 20%
