Forums - Gaming - Anybody else now less excited for FFXIII?

I haven't played a Final Fantasy game ever...but I'm excited...It looks awesome! Well I wouldn't be afraid of the final result, they have spent a lot of money on it, and it is their best series...I don't thinl they will do something wrong...GTAIV seems to be pretty good in both plataforms...

Livin' in sin is the new thing.

I'm less excited because:

1. As an FF fan first, like you, I would've preferred a 360 exclusive because I'll probably be buying the 360 late in its lifetime and multiplat games from the get-go are usually gimped. If you look at all the games that are pushing the quality of the systems, they are all exclusive (Note that GTAIV didn't push anything, it just has a huge fanbase)

2. As a PS fan second, I would've loved to see how the consoles pushed by FFXIII stack up to mgs4. Its too bad that that won't be happening anymore

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I'm still excited but disappointed that this is likely slowing down development for all versions, and apparently slowing down development for Versus.

Why would I be less excited? The game has been in development for a long time for PS3 exclusively and apparently will be until its completion. Yes, its quality may suffer but at this point, I guess, only a little. And there's also a chance it will be as good as it would've been had it stayed exclusively on PS3. Anyway, from quality point of view there's nothing to worry about, I think.

With this further delay is anyone thinking there is even a remote chance for FFXIV this generation?

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

I hate people sometimes.

maybe less excited wasn't the right word

does disappointed fit better?

As a Final Fantasy fan above all else, I want the best game possible and now I wonder if this will be the case now that it is multiplatform. Because as one person pointed out, rather then being optimized for one console, it is being made for two.

lol. all the people saying it wont look as good grow up. I know Sonys conf is yet to come. But as from today the 2 best looking titles on console are Fable 2 and Gears 2. The 360 is certainly at the cutting edge in graphics.

I hate beating the same thing over and over but whatever

The game is as someone so perfectly put it.  Compare it to RE4 on the gamecube.  The game was released exclusive to the gamecube.  Just as FFXIII is for the PS3.  The reason this is true and you can't argue is because it is released on the PS3 in Japan before the game is even started on the 360.

So the PS3 version is the same wether exclusive or not.  because it is essentially completed while exclusive.  Then afte the game is done they do a port.  So the only one that could suffer or improve is the 360.  the ps3 is not affected at all.  So wether it pushes the ps3 is up to whether i would have pushed it from the start.  The 360 has nothing to do wth what SE decided to do on the ps3.

As said before, did the gamecube RE4 suffer because of the PS2 RE4.
