so even if Nintendo would possess 100% of the market it will not help us to know if Sony can significately increase or not is hardware sales
With others word, u can show us all the numbers u want about the fact that RIGHT NOW Nintendo sells a lot more Wii than Sony sells PS3, it will not tell us what will happen in the futur
And about the DS vs PSP, it is not the question
since we are talking about PS3, and not Wii
I'm pretty sure that the Wii sucess is NOT linked to the DS sucess
(if they sales it is not because they are both Nintendo consoles, it is because they are both "good" (let's say cheap and fun))

I don't claim that Sony will reconquer Japanese market, I just say that Sony could (Japanese people will decide in fact)

I know you all will jump on my ass and lebel me stupid but I'm only giving you an insight to my meager knowlegde as someone that's actively followed the inner workings of the industry from 1992 (I actually started gaming in 1981 like a lot of guys here) and not just passively gamed. Weather you agree with me or not is really irrelevant to me. The thing is all current warriors in this battle have a philosophy to their bussiness strategy. Nintendo's has usually been the "We'll bring you fun, fun, fun and you'll like it" They don't risk jack. They revived the industry and with their strategy, they'll always be here. They play it safe and move on. However, on seeing a continuous decline of sales for their console for each gen, they've tried to shake things up a bit with their latest installment and I feel they'll definatly beat the xbox this time which I believe is their main target this gen. That and to reverse the slid from pst gens. Sony's thing has always been about actively searching for the best and most varied form of entertainment for the gamer. They will take huge risks to accomplish this and contantly look to bring new and different game experiences. They are more the "BUILT IT AND THEY WILL COME" type philosophy and this is why developers always ride with them in the end. People tend to forget that developers are artists, sure it's a business and you want to make money but game developers also want to create and they want to create things people will appreciate. Again " Built it" (create a mind blowing game) and they will come. Of all the console the PS3 is the only one that trully has a huge tool base to create dreams and this is what it's always been about. The xbox? well, I don't really want to go into their philosophy as it pertains to gaming but I can tell you this: It is my opinion that anyone buying a xbox product is inevitablly going to always get burnt. I don't know how people can't see this but hey it jsut seems people are jsut built to sometime continue to make bad decisions no matter what. The PlayStation3 will skyrocket and will dominate again, of this I simplly have no doubt. Last year when Sony stocks tanked I was so pissed at my self cause that is just an investors dream - to see a trend in the market that no one else sees and buy low - and I just didnt' have the funds to get some of that stock. Watch it, Sony investors will be laughing their butts to the bank in 2009-2010.

 Well first off Nintendo has always taken risks. Sony is the company that hasn't. Come on man, Nintendo developed the analog stick, shoulder buttons, rumble pack, the wave bird. all ideas the Sony later intergrated within their controls. the only thing they added to my knowledge was the second analog stick. Sony's philosophy in alot of ways is the same as Microsoft, it's dump enough money on something and your bound to win, it's the same with a rich politician. They dumped money on 3rd parties, they lost money on an advanced console just to get people to buy in. they bought developers left and right.

I believe the philosophy that helped generate success for the ps1 and 2 is now the philosophy that will work for the Wii, it's all about expanding your audience. They showed adds with older guys playing the playstation, created more mature games, talked about husbands wanting it as an anniversary gift. It was all very successful, and they had the right relationships with the right 3rd parties to make that happen, heck rockstar and Square alone made alot of things happen. Yet it's now the Wii that created an image that appeals to new markets. The ps3 might have been built to be very powerful and last a long time in the market, but without initial success it's hard to change a gamers perception. In fact if you study business and products its almost impossible to sell poorly and then a year later magically sell amazing. 

Developers ride them because they've had the leading console for two generations and they'ved dumped money on all these guys. Now Microsoft is doing that too, and Microsoft and Nintendo have much bigger bases. Tell me how do you convince someone to bring their biggest franchise exclusively to the smallest user base this gen? You don't. Thats why they lost an exclusive for GTA, and any version of the new Dragon Quest. That's why Gundam Musou is getting released on the x360 in America too, they can't ignore it's base here in the states. So as time goes by if Sony's internal efforts don't do alot to start generating huge sales, alot of 3rd party Sony exclusives will either be timed, or launched along with the 360. 

and you can't ignore initial sales of the ps3, and keep pretending along with many PS fans that the 1,2 sold poorly in their first year, which is a huge misconception. ps2 blew the Dreamcast and Gamecube out of the water. PS beat the N64, and didn't have any competition from MS until way late in the game, now for the first time ever sony is in last place they have the disadvantages on all acounts. So I just don't see them winning. And if you think about it it's alot like their psp business model the umd = blu-ray graphics over ingenuity(psp=good graphics, ds=touch screen, ps3=good graphics, Wii=motion control) You can argue that it's a whole other battle for consoles but when the numbers are backing the parellel, it's a tough argement to make. 

About 360, what's so bad about it? You get great graphics for that price, tons of great exclusives, heck Halo 3, Mass Effect, Too Human, Alan Wake are all enough for me. Never mind Splinter Cell: Conviction, GTA(with extra content) Banjo-Kazooie, Blue Dragon, Lost Odeyessy, and plenty of other titles too. I don't see why most hardcore games wouldn't pick up a 360.

what need Sony for the moment, except game release, is to boost his "hype" with future crazy game (new game, not tekken6 for example)

Now that would be the utmost height of stupidity to bann a poster for using an availible option in the forums post tabs. If it's such a bother (as I have no idea how it could be) then the option should be taken off. The reason these options exist is for poster to have the chance to plant certain marks of individuality. If my bolding means insults and banns then hey, so be it but I have no idea how having a bold font warrants such behaviour but hey if it pleases the MODs, do what you feel you must.

Next-gen console sales are really low for the moment
except Wii that succeed to OPEN a new market with the "very casual gamers", (people who were not suppose to buy ANY console before Wii release)

 At least give a good reason and justify your usage of it...
