I don’t know if this has been discussed before but how will Nintendo outdo itself next gen? Will it release a now system with enhanced Wii controllers or something totally new? I think it will be the former as they have done in the past with the Nes and then Snes with better 2D graphics and N64 with its 3D and GC enhancing them but Nintendo is unpredictable so you never know..  

The competition will most likely have motion controllers that resemble the Wiis but improved on. And if MS releases there console first will they have the crown? We do have people that can see the future right :P

I don’t know but I thought it would be fun to discus this so what do you think?

Feature wise, I think Nintendo can do a ton of things to outdo the wii.
More bang for the buck would not be hard IMO

-graphics (these actually are important)
-hard drive
-online service/community
these would not be clones of the HD consoles similar features, but done the Nintendo way

-a new innovative feature - This one would be the best option for Nintendo but a very hard one to repeat. This is because most innovative new ideas in gaming going forward would involve making a more expensive console.

Refining the original vision of the wii would be the best IMO. take motion control to a whole new level, with a combination of wii like controls and head tracking, all in HD. (if they can beat Microsoft and Sony to the punch)

But as the wii has proven the only thing Nintendo needs to outdo itself is to repeat the same process and have spectacular marketing.

Virtual Reality! This is the next and final Vg revolution! (would take 20 years to accomplish that feat.)

 They already try it and was a failure.

I don't know yet.
However Nintendo has said that they are not going with the conventional sustaining technology route like the old consoles did.
They said that they must kill the Wii before it inevitably kills them.
Whatever it is, it's going to be a Wii-killer.Let's see if they can deliver.

it would have to be something different bc look at who is controlling the company now. Iwata who is the fan of traditional ractical market distrubtion on proven technologies just look into the next DS to see exaclty what the Wii2 will be
