@naraku2099, of course, but I don't think they decided to make it 20% in comparison to 200%. Also what do you mean about graphics only being 20%? The graphics in a technical perspective are relative to the power of your console. If a console is 200% more poweful, then depending on how large the game is and what framerate it is running at, and many other things you could have graphics far more advance in qualilty than 20%. I don't like using linear terms like percentages anyway to compare graphical features of consoles.

^also a good artistic design helps alot with the graphics

I know what you mean, there are lots of factors that affect the picture/graphics you can get with a system.

For example if you have a PS3 or 360 and you don't own an HDTV you won't get the best picture you could with the system.

Also, I just thought of another possibility of error aside from my memory. It is entirely possible that whatever source I read that information from had a typo and thus the article read "20%" where it was supposed to be "200%".

Were you by any chance thinking of this?

This allows the chip to draw 20% less power than its predecessor, the 180 nm Gekko, which is used in Nintendo'sGameCube video game console.[1]

^thats what i said its the power

It's possible. I can't really say for sure, as I read the article quite a while back.

This is the generation where graphics have come to a "good enough" point. Going beyond that point is too risky. I'm not saying that there can't be a graphical improvement like what you see in the PS3 and Xbox360, is just like it's no longer that relevant in game improvement. What is relevevant now is how the game is appealing, inviting. And that needs talent beyond graphics

That's opinion, not fact. I still see plenty of room for improvement graphically on both PS3 and Xbox360.

Not to mention that while both systems have good graphics, they both have their ups and downs in terms of certain processes related to the graphics.

Even more so in the case of Nintendo Wii. Being that it's not up to the graphical standards of PlayStation 3 or Xbox360, it has all the more room to improve in terms of graphics.

Once in-game graphics look this good then I will say that graphics have loss any importance they have. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/65.html

The next thing was, did we need a Wii to begin with, why didn't Nintendo just employ the same philosophy to the Game Cube and outsell Sony and Microsoft; these graphics are amazing

Well that's actually what they practically did. A GC with new controls. And of course the Wii is stronger than the GC, but beefing up the GC was the least they could do.
