Nintendo is going back to its roots of the nes and remaking its peripherals better. The wii balance board just make the possibility even bigger. Yes peripherials help the wii shine, but its not a bad thing. The music games like rock band and gutair hero sell yet also because of their peripherals

Well guitar hero wouldn’t be much fun with just the controller I don’t think so anyway ( I have never tried it).

Nintendo has always been smart, the fact that they have always been getting cash from every gen not like the other guys… lets just say when you have allot of cash you don’t think clearly :P. And I don’t think the wii is selling because of the peripherals (the thing that started from that guy at kotuku ore whatever the sit is called. I think he is ignorant. Too sell a system you need games that appeal too as wide an audience as possible and the wii has that and that’s why it’s selling this good ;)

The way Sony used software to "win" and the way Nintendo does for NES and Wii are two different things.

Sony won because of variety and quality.

Nintendo won because they became synonymous with a revolution. (SMB in the U.S. 1985-1990 and WiiSports in 2006-?)

NES and Wii are eerily similar in terms of media coverage and generation bridging.

To be honest I'm quite bored as well. With no numbers last week there hasn't really been any meaningless debate this week. I should be playing Brawl but the wife has refused me permission to go downstairs and unfortunately I have to sit in the bedroom while she watches big brother.
