Wow a war of opinion.

Let's see... wow I'm pulling up nothing, good job guys... so what's the point? To get the other to like the game you like more than the game they like?

FFTA has a very deep story but how it's arrived at seems a bit shallow, though not perfect bashing it's story shows ignorance, in fact FFTA story had a great effect on FFXII's story - where do you think Judges came from?

FFT to me had an amazing story, though shallow on delivery at points it still had an intense and dramatic story, The only game where I got pissed off at the end as Delita sends you on a while goose chase while he captures a kingdom and you kill a god which ties into the Ancient king story of FFXII very well.

So FFTA's story was very childish and some people admitt to not playing anymore after the snowball fight - it doesn't bring anything new to the table other than restrictive races (which sucks) and FFTA2 kind of kills the groove some more with the shift to getting exp and job points after the battle.

But such is the way things are - people always believe the previous game is better than the succesor. But trying to change each others opinion is kind of perplexing.

Ok dude.. I already know now what you think.. so after FFT, and FFVII, when are you gonna say Xenogears sucks or something like that? :D

Yeah... but I don't know what you think. Do you agree or not?  Aside from story... what about everything else.  Or have you even played it much?

Also note I didn't say FFT sucks. That's something for Words of Wisdom to say.

For me it's just another game in my favorite genre SRPG.  It's a normal game.  It's good, not amazing end all be all though.  Which is tough when there are 2 amazing games in the genre.  Tactics Ogre and Front Mission 3... and many better ones.  Like the Super Robot Wars games, FFTA and Front Mission 1.

As for Xenogears. Haven't played it yet. It's on my list as it's a game i've owened for a long time but never got in to. Spent a few hours punching dogs and then i got in the mood to play Front Mission 3 and never got back to it.

its more likely a port to the xbox360 than to the wii... of ff13.
you can be sure about this stuff unless you are iwata itself.

square have put their big guns on HD consoles until now, and saying its because the wii won't sell third party RPG is probably true.

persona 4 selling better on the ps2, than Tales (a bigger name) on the wii.

unless some of you guys know iwata himself its just gossip the kinda of TMZ.com does.

Lol, Persona has a big following in Japan. Tales of Symphonya DotNW is a spin-off, not a direct sequel. Namco themselves said that.

Besides, name an RPG that sold better on the PS3 in Japan.

Stop trying to prove a point you will never be able to prove, in some weeks ToS: DotNW will be the best selling current gen RPG in Japan.

no it won't, its at much at 180k... that its now it won't be long they having that title, since everybody knows ff13 will be the highest selling RPG this generation.

I can tolerate morons.

I can understand that people disagree with me.

But if there's one thing I cannot accept, it is people being wrong on the Internet

I think Pokemon is likely to end up a few millions ahead, but I could be wrong.

Hmm, I didn't realize so many people actually liked FFTA. The game wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything close to FFT. I played FFT for years. I completed it several times. FFTA was easy, the judge system is there to artificially increase difficultly, and the story was horrid. I finished it once and never touched it again. Once I found out the Judge system was back in FFTA2, I immediately scratched it off my purchase list.

Fixed. Please people stop forgetting pokemon. Also I could see Dragon Quest IX selling similar or even more than FFXIII if SE suceeds in making it even more popular in the west, which seems very likely.

I could answer you one of two ways, one way would be to say the PS3 is still in the PS2 and PSX generation, then lead that into a super long explanation proving my point, or I could just say Pokemon Diamond/Pearl sais hi.

I just like to debate. That and i'm always willing to change my mind when someone can actually bring up things that can change my mind.  I also like to see what people are thinking.  Though rarely do people go into actual depth about these things when argueing for some reason.  Rather then just saying... like Ajax does "It was better!  I like it better!"

Also, i'd say restrictive races were a good thing as it opened up more options, and the classes were balanced better. I'd add in the rules which made you play strategically and develop a nice well rounded team vs FFT where you just made a few mathmeticians or dancers and ruled over all....

Or once you got TG Cid let him solo the rest of the game.

I don't know.  It seemed a lot harder then FFT... espiecally after you got TG Cid.  There is only one battle in all of FFT you really need any strategy for... the first 1 on 1 battle.

I don't get what makes the judge system "artifical" just because it's different.

As for the story.  Like i said.  I disagree.  It's story even had a radio drama after it.
