I like it too.
and GT comments are so ridiculous, I wonder if it's the same with every game there...

Is this a Wii exclusive platformer like Rachet and Clank, or what is this? I saw a preview in NP, but it didn't say much of anything.

Red Fly Studios are making two games based around the Mushroom Men universe. The first one, The Spore Wars, is Wii exclusive, and it's the 3D platformer featured in that trailer. The second, Rise of the Fungi, will be a 2D platformer exclusive to the DS.
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Uh, what? Atrocious? Mediocre visuals? You're insane; this game looks beautiful for a Wii game. |
You've been fooled by all the bad looking third party games on the Wii. Look at Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Brawl or The Conduit for what the standard should be.
This game has worse shadow effects like most N64 games, incredibly low poly character models and the particle effects just look unfinished. Technically, the trailer looks like a mess compared to what the Wii is able to do - and has done already.

I just went back and watched that trailer again to make sure, and you must be hard of sight or something. The shadows look just like every other high-quality Wii game I've played, the character models look fine (it's hard to put much detail into an ambulatory 'shroom), and I don't see what's wrong with the particle effects.

The shadows are only circular shadows, ie not real projections of the models. Check out the trailer in full screen to see this, and other shortcuts the developers took for this game.
I'm not saying the game looks ulgy, it just looks sup-par considering what's already out there. But what's worse is that the gameplay looks totally uninteresting.
"But Science....WAS WRONG!" Lol that was classic. Anyways, the game looks cool, there hasn't been many platformers so this is a breath of fresh air.
I gotta go with Chrizum here. I'm a much bigger fan of platformers and adventure games than i am of shooters but of the 2 3rd party games riding the hype train at the moment i'm much more interested in the Conduit. I want to like Mushroom Men but the visuals seem average at best (maybe just a product of the poor quality video), the camera looks a little wacky and just by watching the gameplay i get the impression that the control isn't very tight. To me this has got mid 70's written all over it, but i'll happily be wrong.
I've got a few titles that I'm a bit iffy...but optimistic about.
de Blob, Deadly Creatures....and this.
I'll have to keep watching...but I'm not completely sold yet.
