No, KH3 will be out in 2010 :)

But wouldn't they work on KH3 after FF XIII?

So, KH3 in 2011!  :

They're likely working on art and design now. They should be starting it soon >_>

2010.

You know this because you work at Square enix right?

If they can officially secure a FFVII remake and be released exclusively on PS3, they won't need a price cut especially not in Japan or Europe because those are the 2 places where price is not a huge factor. Only games is a factor in Japan and Europe and if they can secure it, a price cut is not needed for a long ass time.

With all these rumours coming back of a remake for the PS3, this is vindication for putting Star Ocean 4 on 360.

I've bolded the things that are absolutely false in that first post and they are self explanatory.  I need not explain them.

As for FFVII remake helping, of course it will.  AS much as a pricedrop would help?  Haha that's laughable.

No, a remake wont win a huge amount, unless it is a full remake with everything in glorious HD, but I still think a US price cut would help

lol. The soonest one could come out is 2011 (two years after FF XIII. I'd assume thye'd work on it after FF XIII). It wouldn't matter then.

I imagine it would be a different team than the FF XIII one (that team will probably be doing FFXV next, unless the plan is for another FFXII-esque change to the formula). But yeah, given modern development schedules, 2011 is probably still the most realistic date. Maybe 2010 if they've already started work, since most of the design, music, writing, etc. is already in place.

You're right in any case. If and when it does come out, it'll be far too late to be a factor in any price cuts. This generation will have been long since decided. If the PS3 is still $399/499 in 2010/11, they've got bigger problems to worry about.

Long time before we see a FF7 remake.

S-E is just going to release FF4 remake for the NDS

So that still leaves FF5 and FF6 remakes first

FF5 +FF6 remakes were released for PS1 and GBA

Naa those were ports not remakes.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

If Sony gets FFVII remake that will only mean, that PS3 will definitely sell over 100 mln. =)

So a game that didn't reach 10M on its original release will make sure a console sells over 100M on a remake? Your logic is as always impeccable Crazzy.

A normal man would have not even bothered to point out that a reamke leads to 100m, it is so obvious...

Two points to think about.

Everyone remembers of that FFVII demo video they made a few years ago? Showcasing the opening video of "how it would look like on the playstation 3. " Its still on gametrailers.com.

SE has remade FF games 1-6 on respective nintendo consoles and others numerous times. How sure is everyone that they will stop right there?

Also, they made a movie??!! Advent Children, with next gen charecter looks in 3d graphics. An FF movie that was tied to the game, unlike that other movie. Don't forget Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus. All of this screams REMAKE

You know Crazzy, I respect you because at least usually your posts are positive about the PS3 and less negative about the other consoles....usually.

That said, while I would love a FFVII remake, I rather doubt it would make as much of an impact as FFXIII or DQIX would. However, I've been wrong before.

The PS3 will probably never sell 100 million units.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I'm just curious, how many Final Fantasy fans don't already have a PS3 in anticipation of FFXIII? Furthermore, what proportion of fans would by a PS3 for an FFVII remake but would NOT buy one for FFXIII? The point I'm trying to make here, is that whatever sales an FFVII remake might induce could well be made by cannibalising the potential system sales induced by FFXIII. This is because the two games probably share a large part of their fanbase (in much the same way as Mario and Zelda often share much of their fanbase).
