If everyone can distance themselves from their opinions fo a minute, you'd be able to see that both lineups are very strong and are basically a wash. I personally think the 360's lineup is stronger, but my reasons are not reasons that would reflect upon many other people. No matter what PS3 shows this year, they don't have Castle Crashers, and that's what matters to me. That's a good enough reason for myself, but it shouldn't reflect my position into saying "This is the year of the 360! Castle Crashers over MGS IV, Resistance 2, SOCOM, Tekken 6, Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea 3!". It sounds rediculious.
Just look at both lineups:
PS3
Resistance 2
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
Motorstorm Pacifica
Little Big Planet
Metal Gear Solid 4
Tekken 6
Valkyria Chronicles
Disgaea 3
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds
Sing Star
Siren: Blood Curse
SOCOM: Confrontation
360
Left 4 Dead
Lost Odyssey
Infinite Undiscovery
Spectral Force 3
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
Gears of War 2
Huxley
Tales of Vesperia
Ninja Gaiden II
Fable 2
Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise
Halo Wars
You may have personal preferences to one over the other, but to deny either list as anything but fantastic for gamers is just idiotic. Put aside your own tastes for a minute and it'll be clear either system can have the best games of 2008.Yes I know a lot of PS3 fans are bitter, because their lineup took a lot of hits this year, and domination got delayed yet again, but that's still a hefty bag full of great games, and by the end of this year, the "PS3 has no games" argument will surely be over.
As for 2009 belonging to PS3, don't count out Nintendo and Microsoft just like that. Giving Sony the early win is what made everyone look like a fool going into this year as game after game got delayed into 2009. Also know, Microsoft and Nintendo haven't really shown their 2009 cards yet, so it's a bit early for anyone to claim a winner.
Note: I purposely left the Wii out of this reply because it wasn't important to the argument.
