I think they will cut price with 50 bucks before the holidays.
A lot depends on how the 360 price drop affects sales. If Sony is still winning weekly worldwide sales after a few weeks, there will be no price drop.
A software bundle would help sales without losing money. Pack in two 1st party games and a headset for free.
So we won't see the May 1995 E3 winning speech from Sony:
"299"
(Sony's Playstatio0n undercut Sega's pricepoint for the Saturn by $100 (USD) and started the beginning of the end for Sega as a hardware maker).
Mike from Morgantown
PS -- My guess we might hear that speech in October.
I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

Fixed. In 1995, the Playstation had just come out the year before, and the N64 wasn't even out yet
they (and everyone) are not going to announce a pricedrop too much time before. People won't buy the console until pricecut, then
I don't think Sony will cut PS3 this summer. They have seen that a price cut in PAL regions has had very little affect on anyone's sales trends. So, now they will see the price drop and wait a few months to see how things level out.
IF 360 shows a large steady gain in that it is now back to constantly outselling the PS3 we can expect a similar price drop just before the holiday season.
HOWEVER, if the 360's gains are only for a month, as I expect, Sony will hold its current pricing until next summer when they can afford to drop the pricing and still be profitable.
