I could be wrong, but part of the explaination as to why the Wii is successful is that it is the first true social gaming system; games which are considered "low quality" that sell well tend to do so because they're accessable to everyone and are very enjoyable to play in a social setting.

You want backup that peripherals aren't the main driver of Wii sales? There are 25 million-selling Wii titles. Only 6 of them ship with hardware, and one of those comes bundled with the console itself and another with a wii remote.

So, there 2 games that sell because of the peripheral. So, out of 12 first-party million sellers, you have 2 of them that sells with a peripheral.
