I find Avatar the only enjoyable animated show at the moment, produced recently. This includes Anime's... the pure animes just don't do it for me. Either it's way too much, or it's way to slow. Plus the humor usually only makes for painfull grins...

I find avatar's connectivity with Eastern folklore, the engaging storyline and deep subjects (Genocide? Spirituality? Loss, betrayal, mind alterations etc) all great aspects. I find it amazing how they can get all these different elements together and make them fit for people of all ages. The only other cartoons to me that managed to do this where a Dutch one you never heard of, and Batman TAS.
