When this week numbers will be uploaded (whenever that will happen, as I am writing this, the numbers are a bit late), DS will definetly crush 75 million mark (DS is at 74.9 mln right now according to VGChartz). It's absolutely amazing for a console that was released just 3 years and 8 months ago (little bit later for Australia,Europe, China and South Korea).

 

Hopefully it won't take long to reach 100 mln mark.

Three words: L. O. L.  The first sentence is okay, as it's your prediction.  It's the second that there's a major fault with.  It's the fastest-selling game system in history, and you think it'll just up and die in just over five years' time?  First off, successful handhelds last WAAAY longer than consoles (the Game Boy lasted nearly ten years).

Second, its' sales have done nothing but increase each year since launch, slaughtering absolutely everything else.  If anything, its' sales will just start to level out in two years.

Third, Nintendo always keeps its' handhelds on the market after the launch of a new one.  Hell, for quite a while the GBA was outselling the PS3.

 

 

So, back up your thoughts sil vous plait.

 

OT: The DS deserves these fantastic numbers--it's the most diverse system in terms of cheap, quality games since the SNES.

ya the DS will be a very powerful system in terms of sales, im guessing at least 120 million.

Omg I hope it sells over 100mln lifetime(very likely). The ds is my favorite gaming device.

considering by it 5 birthday nintendo should be already making a succesor, considering tis 2.5 years since the slim introduction.
