Sweet.
Hopefully the comments sections of your articles don't devolve into a 'hate on starcraft' crapfest by 4 or 5 certain members.
Good luck, i'll read em.

Well lets not count our chickens before they hatch. Generally when other contributors that have detractors have been inducted, their first few articles get a bit of flaming before people just get over it.
I'd love to contribute, but if not I just hope we get some 360 and PS3 based contributors to keep people like me interested.

Yeah anything that increases the 360 and PS3 input will do nothing but provide more diverse interest in the site.
It's the nature of the beast though, Wii content is always going to be over represented as that console is the one over represented in the market.
I agree that more ps3, 360 and pc news content would help increase the sites popularity. As people have mentioned most sites tends to be bias towards one platform more then the others and I think that if this site can maintain at least some console neutrality in its news sections it'll do loads for the sites popularity and respectability. I would put myself forward for a pc/360 contributer but I'm way to busy with work and uni these days :(
Well, that's settled then.
Also, I wasn't complaining, just pointing out that there's a gaggle of contributors, but almost no PS360 news stories coming out. And I'll be damned if Captain Rainbow or Activision's shovelware lineup is bigger than Rock Band 2 being announced.
And what'd be the point of being a contributor solely for the reason of seeing some PS360 news? This site should strive to have news from all around the industry, not just news about one system. I was never saying the site was biased or anything, but anyone new that may have stumbled onto the site, and only see Nintendo things in the news section (not Top news) it may say something. Why not break the contributors up into their respective consoles and the cover news that way. With the way that information on the Wii has been passed off as "news", there'd be much more reporting that way.

I handle PS Store updates. Are you a contributor? I forget and to lazy to look. |

I totally agree with you, but the news site is only there for a short while and a lot of the improvements you mention are underway, but take time to implement. Everyone on the team is working voluntarily, so unfortunately we cannot do everything as fast as we would like to.
But a year ago I wouldn't have guessed that VGC would have had live coverage from E3, so things are certainly going in the right direction.
Wow look at all these people applying to contribute. See, good has come from my seemingly useless post... :)
Top Stories and News are two different things. The News section is the one seemingly sponsored by Nintendo.

Everything that gets sent to us gets posted. If you have a tip on a news story send it in to news@vgchartz.com and it'll get put up and credited.
The top stories are based on most hits in the past 6 hours. Plenty of Sony stuff has gone up there (MGS4 day one sales was up there for like a week straight at #1), and there just hasn't been much Microsoft news lately.
We'll evaluate the need for new contributors but I'm a bit busy now with E3 prep. You should be satisfied with our coverage though, as I'll be at the big three press conferences and wandering around the show floor itself. ;)
