Forums - Nintendo - With Animal Crossing confirmed, To what extent will it be Online?

I honestly have no idea (I've long since stopped trying to predict the rather erratic decisions of NCL).

However, what I'd like to see is that a fairly high number of people can visit your village at all hours of the day/night and a fairly painless method of trading items--anything beyond that would be gravy.

I'd also like to see greater variation in village setting, e.g. in the mountains, on a lake, in a desert, etc., (with weather, fauna/flora to match) just to give the player an incentive to really explore other villages the world over--think of it as the video game version of that country showcase in Epcot Center :)

And if I read that magazine correctly, what if you can visit your gamecube town? Man, this game is going to rock.

@tehsage: I wouldn't be surprised if they allowed you to copy your GameCube town to the Wii and have the enhancements--that'd be cool, although my town's gonna be covered with weeds and everyone will think I'm an asshole.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Hell, I'm gonna be happy with whatever they do. I love this game.

Hey if there isn't any voice chat do you guys think they will have keyboard support?

You think that's bad? What would people think of you if they let you import Nintendogs data into Animal Crossing Wii...

I think it'll ship with a hard drive, since MMOs need them . Although, if all they were planning was downloadable content, such as furniture or new town events, I'm sure that stuff could fit in one or two megabytes.

I think you're right. Some of the best-selling Wii games have shipped with peripherals: Wii Play (with a Wiimote); Wii Fit (with the balance board); Mario Kart Wii (with Wii Wheel)... It wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo shipped an Animal Crossing MMO with a hard-drive or something similar.
