If AC is touted as a MMO then it will be huge. Wild World was really good but DS limited a lot of what the online couldve been. Here's to an awesome online AC!

I think the new Animal Crossing will outsell 90% of the other games announced at E3. The game is a monster.

I hate to disagree, but I can not possibly think of a game that could be announced at E3 2008 that might out sell it.  Unless something totally new out of the blue.  Even if there was a Nintendogs Wii or new GTA announced, I don't see it outselling ACWii.

Edit: I will not be buying it, it's not my thing.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

i think its a 'kidding around'-exaggeration .. like "Wow XXXXX-domination finally confirmed", it is just said to show that you are excited for the announcement of whatever thing

i think it was just there opinion, i dont think you can definetively say anyone has won E3 untill its over.

and even afterwards it can sometimes still be questionable (i think last year was an example of this)

Wait, E3 is a contest? I thought it was a place for developers to show off games and Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo to show off their new exclusives and what they're working on. =/

No, as I posted in another thread, people here seem to think there is a scoring system and rules to "win" a press conference.

There can and will be people that say Nintendo won an E3, but there will be as many people that say Microsoft won the same E3, and an equal number of people that say Sony won the same E3.

It just comes down to which group of fanbois have more time to post on the web who they felt won, maybe thats the scoreing system...

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

They're competing for our attention. It is a press conference. The press will report back the most interesting things. Here is how we measure who "won."

Afterwards, we go to Google News and look at the list of E3 articles and compare all the headlines. Whichever company is mentioned in the most headlines got the most out of it.  It's an objective method and doesn't involve bickering fanboys.

Also, it will be Nintendo.

Again.

RubangB speaks the truth.

Animal Crossing Wii plus Wii Music may well steal the show for the mainstream press.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Wow Gearbox. Thx for the totally pointless post. Do you want to see the game fail?

OT: This will probably be one of the biggest selling games from E3 coming. I mean, LOTS of people thought Mario Kart Wii would perform lackluster. It's now well on its way to become the best selling exclusive of this year and one of the best of this generation.

Lots of people thought it would perform poorly, or lackluster as you put it? Who were these people? I don't think there's a single person out there who didn't think it would sell at least several million copies. Just the norm: Fanboys putting words in non-existant mouths.

That said, there's no easy way to accurately predict the sales for the game. One sold 3 million, the other will end up selling 10 million and is still selling strong. So where do we put sales of this game? When you have such a rift between two games in a series, you have to wonder.

Anyways, it doesn't matter to me, the consumer. Overall, this isn't some pissing contest, this is a way to grab the consumer's attention. I happen to have never bought an Animal Crossing game, and it's pretty obvious that no one would care about Pit if he wasn't featured in Brawl. Before, only a couple of fanboys remembered the game. Now, it's worshipped by people who aren't even old enough to have played it when it first came out!

I think Wii Music will steal the show if it's announced, and I'm sure Sony will show some interesting games from their second parties.

Microsoft won e3 already, since they are showing the best games. Nothing can compare to GoW2 and halo wars. They even have couple of games for kiddie gamers, banjo kazzloe and viva pinata. If they are going to show a better version of wiimote with halo wars.. win for sure.

Last animal crossing on home consoles sold like 3 million. So you can be sure that GoW2 will outsell it. After all, it is a much better game and it's predecessor sold 2 times more.
