Forums - PC - Crysis Warhead will retail at 30$ !!!! Bargain of the Year!!!!!

Lets be honest. Its the games that matter and the PC is still the best. It has a huge casual industry, a large amount of indie games developers and the traditional hardcore developers. It has the best digital distribution systems, the best multiplayer, the most accurate controls, the ability to use controllers and other control methods if you like, massive mod support, not to mention the biggest back catalog of games.

This may be a bad time to bring up that I had a good deal with my parents where I'd replace nearly my entire computer and then reconstruct the old parts for my parents to replace their old Dell. That way the old parts still have a use and aren't left to rot under dust piles.

Aside from the parts I already have (speakers, cheap sound card, and video card), I bought and built what I'm currently using for $578.35. I'm hoping to work a little bit so I could get a new video card (maybe a 8800gt) for around $150 or so and that would make the build cost $728.25. With my current 7800gt, I can run Call of Duty 4 with generally high settings and get around 30-50 FPS (depending on what's going on). I don't think I played Crysis with my new parts, but with the same video and the old parts, I was getting around 20-30 FPS on medium (something a shiney new 8800gt, or better, should fix).

I really only use Newegg. Still, I'll try to find the rebate and/or free shipping deals when I buy things (assuming the product reviews are favorable).

wait..you guys aren't actually arguing with kingofwale right, you're better off talking to a wall..

anyways, i am definitely going to buy this, when my pc is acting normal again that is =P

Again, I am willing to send anybody here a check of 500 bucks, if they can put together a PC that can play Crysis on it.

This is not a joke, I am sick of people saying it's possible and yet I can't seem to find those "deals" to save my life.

Theres a $400 PC that can run crysis high,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpO4FwTpR3Q

I am sure you can find a guy who will put it all together for $100. :)

Let's see....
My PS3 cost me $600 (60 gig launch)
My TV cost me $2000 (50 inch 1080p Sony LCoS)
I don't even want to go into what my sound system cost, so we will just stop there...
MGS4 $60

My PC cost me 750 to upgrade (the only thing I kept from old was the case and DVD, so let's call it $825)
OS free, but could be had for $130 I think
My 30" dell 2560x1600 monitor cost $1400.
Crysis Warhead $30

So...
Cost to play MGS4: $2660
Cost to play Crysis Warhead : $2355

The big costs in all that is the high end displays... the PC display will last me until it breaks (15 years?).
The TV will not last that long, so the realized cost for each game is even more dramatic.

And to be completely honest, I would have all that stuff no matter if Warhead or MGS came out, so it's really 30 vs 60.

I can't wait for Warhead! I just finished Crysis.

I pray you didn't actually waste your time typing that. let me just take a random one as an example.

>7.- Unpack the hard drive, put it on the case and screw it, then connect it to the first SATA port on the motherboard. Connect it to the power supply too.

hmmm, First SATA port??? where's that?? Where's the power supply? Where's the port located on mother board? and how do you connect it?

Well, you can only plug it into ports that it fits in, and on my mobo I have 4 of them right next to each other. Each one has a big 1, 2,3, or 4 next to it.

If you can't figure that out, you also don't have the $500+ to own one, because you're a moron who can't make a living.

There are a lot of good arguments against building a PC. Not knowing where to plug the HD in is not one of them.

I suppose those would be the same morons who can afford to spend thousands on Alienware CPUs or an HP Blackbird. One wouldn't think there would be much of a market for pre-built high end gaming machines, but there is.

Not caring enough to know how to build a PC hardly means not having means to scrape together the cash to cobble together a home brew computer on the cheap. Not everyone wants to build their own computer, and most user built computers aren't high end machines.

It's not much different than the gear head that builds up an engine and uses it to power a 10 second straight line car as opposed to the guy who "wastes" his money on a European exotic instead.

Until the zero gravity sequences on the alien ship I thought Crysis was a pretty great game so at $30 I'm all over Warhead even if it is just more of the same with some more polish.

At $30 for a new release, EA is literally GIVING this game away.

Between the super low price and the lowered system requirements, theoretically, it should sell much faster than Crysis.

Oh you bastard! Spoiling the story for me!!!!!

lol, I'm probably not going to play it until I upgrade my video card.
