no, no I didnt say that makingmusic i was quoting my magazine psm3. I think killzpne will be more akin to battlefield bad company as that has slower reloading times and aiming times than COD4. As sed b4 will be a definite purchase 4 me if reviews are 80%+

I know you were.  I was just explaining why they would've said that. :P

I just don't get why you compare the hype to halo3. Halo3 is great. I am still playing it and just in the last 24hours there were nearly 900.000 players online in Halo3, 10 months after its release. So the hype was worth it.

The hype for Killzone 1 wasn't worth it. it was just average.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I remember when the first Killzone came out. Being a big fan of FPS shooters it wasnt long before i had my hands on a copy. After playing through the game, I couldn't figure out what the brilliance about the game was. Having played several FPS's I felt a little let down if anything. Especially after the release of BLACK, which truly was groundbreaking given its release on last gen consoles.

The hype machine has now started again. Killzone2 is in the horizons and it is meant to be better then silicon found sun bathing on the hot exotic beaches.

Already since its demo shown years ago prior to the PS3 release, there has been huge doubt whether or not it will be this graphically brilliant game that wields the power to display graphics so good, the press were convinced it was CG rather then in game graphics.

Well what if the graphics are so great, will the gameplay be just as phenomenal? Gears of War is what it is today, not so much due to its graphics, but due to its new off the shoulder approach to FPS. Will Killzone2 bring anything new to the table or will it just be another over hyper best seller title such as Halo3. Polished to look extra good with not much new content but praised and loved by its fan boys.

That is a contradiction in terms.

Also, "better then silicon found sun bathing on the hot exotic beaches"??? Are you talking about computer chips? Assuming you actually meant silicone, my advice would still be to get out more.

Well, I have to say, I commend Guerilla and Sony's studio network for not trying to create Halo 4. I think they're on to something with the emphasis on real-time tactics and squads - what might be called tactical immersion.

Really, the days of P-C-D gaming (P-C-D: Point at target, Click on R1, Duck behind cover -- rinse and repeat) are gone for good. Gaming has been there and done that, and it's time to move on to new types of gameplay.

It's no accident that the extraordinarily talented folks at Insomniac are doing something similar with Resistance 2 -- moving away from the FPS stereotypes, and adding tactical and squad elements.

Sony/Guerilla aren't hyping KZ2 at all. A lot of fans hype it due to the graphics that have been shown so far.

When you show a CG trailer, passing it as in-game footage a few years before the game is done, I think that counts as hyping the game. The fans' reaction is just what they want.

They released a target render in 2005, in-game footage in 2007, and a playable demo in 2008.  Not including a handful of screenshots.  That doesn't exacly scream hype.

When they released that fantastic target render, they passed it off as in-game footage. Later it became known that the real game was nowhere near that state (at least not yet), which means they were giving the wrong idea. IMO, when you're so eager to show a game that you show it a few years before it's released, you're hyping it too much. Doubly so when you deceive people about the footage's nature.

So you feel what is essentially a tech demo shown at E3 3 years ago is over-hyping a game?  I think it's time to move on from the target render passed off as game-play discussion.  Sony and Guerilla have explained this many times.  Plus they backed up the target render with actual game-play footage that was near the equivalent of the render in 2007.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

SKEEZER AND NINTENDO FAN GIRL ARE MY NEMESIS

YES TO BEER

For anyone who doesen't know killzone has atleast 1 new gameplay mechanic previously unseen.. The FPS cover. Everyone keeps mentioning the cover. Don't forget that you go TPS in practically all other games with cover when using it. This game will still be FPS while you are in cover.

HAHA, Killzone 2 over-hyped, and this is coming from a Halo 3 owner. Priceless.

The interesting thing is, Killzone 2 is selling itself almost entirely on graphics.

Halo 3 was panned for its graphics but got nine's and ten's for it's gameplay...

You can call that reviewers being too scared to give it a low review.

MGS4!

you know what I find extremely funny? people were like it is impossible for GG to match the 05 trailer ,,,but as soon as they saw the sony gamer day game-play footage, and how close it was to the 05 trailer ,they start saying well It will PROBABLY not have an innovative/best game play even though there is nothing innovative about Call of duty 4 which is one of the most popular 360/ps3 shooters.

If this game was on 360 I can assure you that they would treat it as the second coming of the christ,,,, we would see helghasts on coke bottles ,on highway billboards,...and no one would say the game was hyped that much.

@starcraft and NJ5

give it up guys ,,who are you kidding? if this is the best and i mean the BEST FPS on the market you guys
(and some reviewers) will find something negative about it and will try to manipulate everyone that the game is bad since the grass in the game smelled funny.

Funny that you post this after I acknowledged that the latest trailer looks much better. Go ahead and try to find something wrong with what I said if it makes you feel better though... But at least be specific instead of doing blanket attacks.

What I say about this game is what I say about The Conduit, a game on my platform of choice... Developers with bad track records have to prove themselves before they deserve my attention.
