After Oblivion, many people have lost faith in Bethesda... and with the changes made so far on Fallout 3, it seems they will make another disappointing game.

The fact that they are worsening the core of the Fallout series, and dumbing it down completely, all I can say is: Screw you Bethesda!

No! Screw you! Oblivion was an amazing game... don't forget, Bethesda made all of the elder scrolls games. They didn't just take over on Oblivion. I have faith that Fallout 3 is not only going to be good, but it is going to be amazing.

So there.

Just kiss the tip.

@mummelman, but there are many cases where the description of Fallout 3 (by devs, Peter Hines and gaming journalists) can be summed up in one short sentence "It's basically Oblivion, but with guns."

However with no level adjusting... so you've got that going for you.

I wouldn't be too sure of that.  The devs have said they will not do level scaling like Oblivion, but they will make it more similar to Morrowind.  The only thing I found boggling was that Morrowind almost had the same level scaling as Oblivion.  EDIT:  The only thing they are going to fix is that bandits with $100,000 worth of equipment is going to rob you for $100.

I don't want to offend you Arkk, but how could you enjoy Oblivion, Bethesda ran out of ideas halfway through Morrowind.  Oblivion only had 2 quest/mission types, Be Brown Boy and Search-and-Destroy.

Lol, yes I remember the very first playthrough when I started the main quests after I was level 35 and the city of Kvatch had like 60 Deadra and other nice bastards strewn all over. By far the silliest feature of the entire game imo.

Did it? I didn't notice...

Aside from the Assassains in the assassain's quest in the expansion anyway. Which made starting a new game annoying... as before you were properly leveled up you'd get attacked by annoying losers every other time you rested.

Level adjusting is stupid though... I mean if people are going through the trouble of grinding to a much higher level then they should be at... they are doing it for a reason.

They want to be an unstoppablel wall of kickass.

Well that or they got lost trying to find their next objective...

still.

I thought it was for the expansions only... because they weren't meant to be near the very end of the game quests but they didn't want people to have to start over to play them.

If you open up the Morrowind game editor it becomes abundantly clear there is level scaling.  Almost every monster in the world has is a place holder for a randomly generated creature based on your level, also all the lute in caves is also randomly generated based on your level.  The easiest way to get grand soul gems is to go cave hopping at a high level, ever wonder why that was.

Not really. Honestly i never got past level 35 much. Like my stint with MUDs halfway through the game i always go the craving to start the game over with a new class build.

The only reason I got all the way through Fallout 1 and 2 is because of how much fun it was to run up on Super Mutants with chainguns and beat the living daylights out of them with my barehands,

Heh now I know. Damn. Level Scaling sucks.

Luckily, I've got a feeling Borderlands will be a lot better then this... and not give me a guilty feeling while playing it.

Fighting that way was so fun.  Plus as you got better, the distance the enemy flew when knocked down got farther.  With some creative leveling, you could send enemies flying across the screen.  ^_^

I always enjoyed getting a character leveled up with melee weapons and beating the crap out of them with a super sledgehammer (I also enjoyed the cattle prod :) ).

The quote's that went with a critical hit to the head always make my day, even now I chuckle when I read the description of such events.  I don't think the image described will ever be graphically portrayed  in a game.
