There are still a lot of Falcon unit models getting the RROD errors, and quite a few getting DVD related errors too. The SA "my xbox is broked" thread is really the place to go if you want to educate yourself on failures. There are a lot of Falcon unit models reported failed there.

Wonder why a wii/ps3 owner would post this to microsoft forums.

I don't think anyone (except maybe for some naive people) really thought the RROD was different on the Elite.

Personally, I don't care... If my (Premium) 360 fails, I have a two-year warranty for any failure (mandatory in many EU countries) and the three-year warranty against the RROD.

Yes xbox 360s still get RROD... but to a lesser extent than before.
Just like Wii still has no 3rd party support...but it has more than a year before.
And just like PS3 still is overpriced for a videogame console...but not as overpriced as it used to be.

Problems take time to fix.
