Forums - Nintendo - New High Voltage Interview

The way those people understand what Wii owners is really stunning. I think that's because they don't approach it as businessmen, they approach it as gamers.

High Voltage +1!

Very well said.

I'm really looking forward to this game. One question though, is it always the same guy in all of these interviews? Because the person sure acts like the same guy! That team really has heart. I love how descriptive they are in the interviews, and how they just ramble on like a regular conversation with a buddy. Their interviews don't sound business-like or PR like at all. They sound like two friends talking, and one (the developer) explaining a fascinating and detailed concept to the other guy.

I can't wait for this game and I hope it sells over 1.5 mill. It's gotta at least do Red Steel numbers... I hope.

I will be buying their game just to support a dev with such good understanding what wii gamers realy want.

This guy definitely said all of the right things. I just hope that High Voltage can afford to make this game as good as they want to. I truly believe that they aren't blowing smoke up my ass and I do want to support this game (if it doesn't suck).

And, ironically, it seems to be some of the best PR you can get, judging from the comments I've seen posted under these interviews. They seem to garner a lot of respect from their target market, whereas PR people tend to make outlandish claims which are then eviscerated by the gaming public.

To answer your question, I've seen several of High Voltage's staffers show up in interviews, but Nofsinger seems to be the most common.

I like the part where he pretty much admits that they wanted to make Halo for the Wii. Started development in October, eh? I can practically see them playing Halo 3 at launch and telling each other how much more awesome it would be with a wiimote.

I like these guys. They are pretty much real about everything. No bullshit from them.

Now I'm 100% interested in this game.

Thumbs up for HVS.

Fullfilled Prophecies

I really... really, really, really hope these guys come through for the Wii. There's actually a lot riding on the success of The Conduit.

Plus, it's an FPS game I'm finally interested in!

I love what these guys are saying, I just hope (and pray) they have the budget and technical expertise to really pull off a AAA experience and not another MoH:H2.

Also, I really, really want local multi-player. That would sell more games than online (although I'd like that too) I think.

It's like this guy can read my mind. Especially the part about developers and their self-fulfilling prophecy. They create a lot of minigames, and when they make a crappy hardcore game with no marketing and it doesn't sell, they're like "see? it doesn't sell".

I REALLY hope that this game is as good as it sounds. I'm very confident it will be, however, and I'm buying this on day one. Guys like these is what the Wii needs right now, and if we don't support it, we're making our own self-fulfilling prophecy. Support this game!
