Forums - Gaming - The biggest game at E3? Final Fantasy 13.

Another thing to consider is that the last thing we heard was Final Fantasy XIII was not going to be released until well after Dragon Quest IX was released. Being that (at this rate) Dragon Quest IX will not be released in Japan until Q4 2008 it is unlikely that Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan until Q2 2009 (at the earliest); and with how these games tend to be released in North America and Europe much later than Japan it is possible Final Fantasy XIII might not be released until Q3/Q4 2009 in North America and Europe.

In other words, it is possible that Square-Enix will not even push Final Fantasy XIII all that heavily at E3 (potentially only showing a video and having the playable demo behind closed doors) which would effectively prevent it from being the "
"Biggest" game at E3.

Uh... from I what I heard was they weren't going to be released in the same season/year. That doesn't tell me DQ will come first.

DQ was announced for 2008.

Twilight Princess: 6.46 million

Phantom Hourglass: 4.32 million

Final Fantasy XII: 5.09 million

FFVII Crisis Core: 1.42 million

Zelda is clearly the bigger series right now. If the information about a new Zelda vs. FFXIII both come out at E3, Zelda will be on top.

That's why I think FF XIII will be a much bigger game at TGS and E3 won't be so big for FF XIII. I really doubt FF XIII is gonna leave an "OMG amazing!" impact at E3 like it could at TGS.

@Pooper

Dude...they already announced DQ IX this year. Why you guys still have hope it will release this year is beyond me.

I missed the memo. And I never said this year so please dont put words in my mouth kid and especially dont classify me under "you guys"

Kid Icarus for me right now. But I await to be surprised.

or maybe it might be diablo 3?

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

Biggest game?

A game that's still unannounced I think.

FF 13? um haven't we seen that game since 06?

To be really BIG at E3 it can't be a game we already know of and pretty much every single one that I have seen in this topic have been announced recently or long time ago already.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

No mention of Gears of War 2? Heh. Seems like the Sony fans are out in force today on VGC.

What does liking Final Fantasy have to do with being Sony fans?

lol great attitude from a mod there.

Of course he leaves out the fact that Sony fans are talking about the topic and leaves out the others arent. that might be the reason behind no one mentioning other than sony titles.

I know for a fact. sc94 pumpkin face mrstickball dmarika trestres arent sony fans/

OF course not, but I am a fan of the final fantasy series(Even if I do think its overrated). Not to mention that the best selling games this generation are nintendo games, and any announcement of Animal Crossing,Wii X, or Zelda will guarantee amazing sales. ON terms of impact. What would be more impacting a game that was never announced and out of the blue was? or A game that was announced had a trailer, and was expected? He asked a question and we are answering it.

Read what mrstickball said. It was clearly flaimbait. He singled out a group of people. He had no reason for saying that, Just flaimbait. If he wanted to say GeoW2 then he had every right to, but he doesnt have a right to say "Sony fans are running ramped because no one mentioned this game yet"

Sigh.

My whole point was that the first 10 posters were pro-Sony, it seemed, and no one was interested in any Nintendo or Microsoft games. I don't understand how saying "the Sony fans are out in force today" is flamebait...I didn't say fanboys, or use any sort of negative connotation in it, and you know that. It would seem that some just want to attack a person with a red nametag because they *gasp* don't think that the only games worth discussion are PS3 games!

At any rate, there are dozens of top-tier games that will be at E3. I was merely pointing out that N and MS games seemed to be under-represented.

At any rate, with DQ9, L4D, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Kid Icarus at this E3, it will certainly be a neat one. Outside of the already mentioned titles.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
