The graphics alone are not only what bothers me. I have been playing RPGs my entire life, it is by far my most favorite genre, it is the reasons I purchased my 360. I don't like the combat system from what I have seen so far.

Of course I am going to still play it, but in my opinion it isn't anything to get overly excited about.

I am also not 100% sure, but I think this may have been the game that had what was in my opinion a very boring trailer.

I'm sorry I fell off my chair. Yeah my brother got Crisis Core, it's ok. But LO is the best RPG I've played since FF7. LO is the best this year by quite a way. If you havent played it you cant comment. Ive played about 8 hours of Crisis core. My brother has nearly finished it.

 

 

Is it also the only RPG you've played since FF7?

 
So the fact I bought and finished (wait I'm counting them because I have them here) 11 Rpg's 6 of which are JRPG's since FF7 you know all about that dont you. Dude grow up.

I'm not starting a flame war, I'm just shocked by what he said as it is a bold statement. There is a 10 year gap between FF7 and LO, a lot of RPG brilliance occured during that time.

@selnor, you've actually completed Elderscrolls 3: Morrowind that thing is crazy long. Or did u blast through the main quest.........did it have a main quest at all?

the Last thing i remember about that game was being an apprentice in the [Mages and of the House of Hailau or whatever it was] Bitter Coast region trying to seal up an Alit for cash. LOL

Do you remember the Earthbound advertisements in the old Gamepro magazines? Barf scented scratch and sniff. Instant classic from that alone. :)

I actually never saw those, but I did have the strategy guide with all the scrath and sniffs in the back.  My brother and I never did figure out what the mystery one was, but it was definitely gross.

Now I am jealous. I never got myself a strategy guide for that game. I wanted it just for the scratch and sniff section you are referring to.

That mystery scent, believe it or not was Pizza by the way.

Wow....hmm...maybe it was a while back and I just misremember it smelling bad, or maybe Japanese pizza tastes like shit.

The strategy guide actually came with the game I believe, I didn't know you could buy it without it ^^; Course I was pretty young at the time, so it wasn't me buying the game anyway.

Ahh, that would make sense why I could never find one.

I purchased my game used. Unfortunately I was a Sega kid. I made the huge mistake of not asking for an SNES when I was younger. I didn't get an SNES until 4 years ago. My PC and the fact my best friend had an SNES is what kept me up to date.

yeah I quit in the middle of the .hack games, battle system just got on my nerves I guess. I really did enjoy the concept of the games though.

You have an impressive number of RPG's played Stats, might be more than my own, I'll have to make a list and see.

 

What can I say, I'm a sucker for spiky hair, teenage angst and cataclysmic storytelling.

Yeah, sometimes I cannot believe how many of them I've beaten, even games I only found to be ok. I guess I always wanted to see how they ended and forced myself to beat them.

My Top 10 of all time would be (not including SNES)

  1. Final Fantasy X
  2. Xenogears
  3. Kingdom Hearts II
  4. Suikoden II
  5. Final Fantasy 8
  6. Kingdom Hearts
  7. Final Fantasy VII
  8. Star Ocean:Second Story
  9. Suikoden III

Honorable Mention, Suikoden I and V, Chrono Cross, Dark Cloud II, DQVIII, Final Fantasy IX and Rogue Galaxy

But yeah, I love my RPG's. The worst RPG i ever beat was probably Legaia 2:Duel Saga, but that had a really fun battle system.

I didn't intend to come across as rude, I meant it more as a joke then anything else. (one person back there said "haha")
