Blu-ray buddies =/= video game buddies. Disney already has a developing house specifically for the wii and ds, and doesn't have one for the ps3. They get the most money from the wii and ds, and they aren't stupid. They won't put it on the ps3 becase them and sony co-operate with blu-ray. That makes no sense at all. They would put it on the console which would give them the most money. Right now that is the wii(not counting ds), and it doesn't seem like it will change.

Since when? Do you have a article or a link?

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

The truth is only time will tell. I think I'm a little too old for KH anyway.

Well Cpacom and SE have rather disimmilar corporate strategies.  Capcom ported RE1/2 to the N64 shortly after they were released on the ps1.  They signed an deal with Nintendo for five GameCube "exclusives" and then proceeded to port most of them less than a year after release.

Capcom screws companies over left and right for more cash.  That's just the way they work.

SE, however, is a different company.  Plans for CC:FFVII and FF: Dissidia remained completely unchanged despite the DS's successs and the PSP's (at the time) failure.

And then there are always demographics. Why does MH stay on the PSP despite the DS' success?  Because they sell like gangbusters on the PSP, and the entire fanbase is on the PSP.  If the FF fanbase moves to the ps3 for FFXIII, it would make sense to put FFVII on the ps3 as well, as it should sell due to the existing demographic, and increase sales of FFXIII/FFVXIII by bringing even more FF fans to the platform for whom FFXIII/FFVXIII alone weren't enough to buy a system.

Monster Hunter Freedom Stays on the PSP for gameplay purposes, the game cannot give the same experience on DS due to limited hardware capabilities. The games were made with the PSP in mind. But the Monster Hunter series wil be on Wii despite being on PS2

Square "screwed" Nintendo fanbase by releasen FFVII on Playstation despite the releases on the SNES

SE chose the DS for Dragon Quest IX despite the release of the successful DQVIII on PS2 and the previous game released on PS1 (I see possibly a remake or sequel to DQVIII on PSP). Star Ocean 4 will be released on Xbox360 despite SO1Remake/SO2/SO3 being released on a Sony platform... they aren't that saint, you know

The games released for PSP are a proof that they want to keep the current customer on Sony's platforms happy while expanding to new ones, even returning to Nintendo's console. They don't want to be platform exclusive anymore.

The world of FFXIII was made with the possibility to expand to different platforms. They changes it so it can't become exclusive and expand to a lot more audience (Wii, PC, handhelds and Xbox 360 are possible candidates) with spinoffs or side stories. This doesn't rule out the possibility of FFXIV on a platform different than Sony's.

For the ones that say that FFVII can't be made with less graphics than FFXIII.... why didn't FFIV/V and VI weren't planned on PSP?... Never consider a game developer faithful to a platform because money and profit prevails over fanbase. To expand brings a lot more profit.

Hey everyone, I finally found that article I'd been referencing time and time again: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6173230.html?action=convert&om_clk=latestnews&tag=latestnews;title;1

The big three companies listed were Namco-Bandai, Sega, and Capcom. I'd kept putting Square-Enix in place of Namco-Bandai for some reason. However! This is stated at the bottom of the article:

"The report also states that another Japanese software giant, Square Enix, does not plan to develop any new titles for the PlayStation 3 until the console's installed base rises enough to make increased next-gen development costs worthwhile. However, Variety Asia made no mention that the company has several PS3 projects currently in development, including Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Square Enix's president and CEO, Yoichi Wada, recently called the Xbox 360 and PS3 "over-engineered" and "mismatched" to gamers needs in a Financial Times report. "

That article didnt say that Final fantasy VII remake and kingdom Hearts 3 will be developed for the Wii though...

Doesn't Sony own the rights to FFVII? Failed

LMAO no dude, Sony had bought exclusivity rights, but for the PS one, not future consoles. Since the PS One is discontinued, that contract is expired.

In regards to FF7 remakes, don't forget about the other factor - development costs. SE can spend a ton of money super polishing FF7 for the HD consoles, or spend 1/4th of that money bringing it to the current marketshare leader. If it came to the HD systems, it'd have to come to both in order for them to hedge their bets to cover what they would have gotten if they chose the Wii instead. OR they do something they are not known for - multiplatform release

The point of that post was to dispel the claim that the PS3 was the clear choice.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Maybe for a new game or franchises perhaps? But I doubt its Kingdom hearts or FF VII. I have yet to see a FFVI remake before Im convinced Squeenix will make a FFVII remake and Kingdom Hearts 3... And theres still FF Crytal bearers they should hype right?
