I've been reading EGM since issue #3. It's my favorite, but like some have said, not what it used to be.

Game Informer's good, but there was s point in time where Activision's games got crazy high ratings. Made me not like them as much.

I think Game Informer is one of the worst out there. They are far too easy on games. Crap like Spiderman 3 gets an 8, while Jeanne d'arc gets less! What?! I usually think there scores are a joke.

I can never finish any of their big reviews (GTAIV,MGS,etc) They just talk so damn much and alot of it is negative.  I eventually just get tired of reading it since what they focus on tellilng you is boring. LIKE the MGS4 review dont know if youve read it yet all they say is long cutscenes and confusing story....its like are you fuckign serious!?

We all know that the story is insane and that the cutscenes is like watching a movie so dont tell me that in your revie abd they dot even give the cutscenes credit. Honestly theyre reviews are not good.

Oh just in case you havent read the latest one theyve lowered the 3-man reviews to one. Except for the "big" games.

I agree that Jeanne d'arc was better than Spiderman 3.

Theyve only give 9 games 10/10 3 of those 3 are Halo 1-3. I fucking hate Halo and thinks thats major bullshit. If MGS4 doesnt get 10/10 wtf!?

Anyways most reviews are shit and I dont listen to em so :P

 

 

You should never form an opinion just on a review...

To me edge is a very mature mag, in the way they write and approach a lot of articles.

But come on all Halo 10/10 that just shows how fanboyish they are or lenient because it is Halo. I dont want that. I know damn well that your average Halo fan would agree that not all were 10/10.

I looked it up and like how they described it being set up but come on 10/10 for all three no way.

Hey, I know them ;) I've been reading Nnirvi's reviews since I was what, 12 maybe? Close to 20 years for those who don't want to do the math.

On another note, I don't get those people who bash a magazine for one review, or a couple of reviews. Reviews are opinions, and if the score doesn't cater to your liking, is it enough reason to dismiss the entire magazine?

Gamepro always sucked.

EGM isn't as good as it used to be but still maybe the best US magazine.

 

I agree.

 

I still think EGM is great though. It lost some of it's luster when Dan Hsu left but the new EiC is sweet.

These answers tell me more about you than edge magazines review-scores tell me about games,  and for the record i don't even play Halo so?

EGM is my personal favorite...although they are sliding downhill really quickly.

Gameinformer seems to be biased against Nintendo.

Gamepro seems like it's a bunch of amateurs putting a magazine together.

Nintendo Power....well if you're 12 then maybe you'll enjoy their humor and month-old news.

The truth is, the internet is way better than any magazine could be, only because you hear about news the day it happens instead of next month.
