Didn't Gamespot have no trouble using Vgchartz in 2006 when our numbers were considered even more suspect?

Criticism is fine but you have to be consistent. The numbers on VGC in 2008 sure as hell aren't worse than they were in 2006 I can tell you that much.

They are probably a little bit confused after they became the laughing stock of gaming websites (at least among people who know about what they did).

I recently ran into trouble with GS, after I questioned why it is that often in Wii articles they, out of the blue, bring in metacritic or gamerankings data to show that the Wii has the lowest overall average scores of the consoles this generation. They had an article about Wii Fit's success, but again out of the blue, they stuck in this tidbit about wii games getting lower scores.

It had nothing to do with the article about Wii Fit's success, but just seemed to be jammed in to take a dig.

Now, I admit I'm a nintendo fan. But I don't want to see any "journalists", or so they claim to be, using every opportunity to take digs at any console. Especially in an article where Metacritic scores about overall lower Wii scores is used to try and erode Wii Fit.

I've been coming here since this sites inception, but only recently registered. Hopefully I can keep my posting to some kind of minimum...

The only reason I use gamespot anymore is so I can update my collection. I will stop using it once vgchartz catches up in their database. (obscure games mostly)

Well, duh, that's what the stats are, an educated guess based off of a lot of data and trends, I don't remember this site ever claiming to be 100% accurate numbers.

I fell asleep reading that article. What a boring piece of shit, the whole thing. I even like Gamespot (*runs*) but seriously, why are they even wasting time on articles like this?

I'm pretty new to Vgchartz, but have been visitng the site for several months. I've noticed that the Hardware data is getting more and more accurate with Famitsu / NPS, etc, every month. And in some months it's amazingly accurate, to say this site just "guesses" numbers is ridiculous, there has to be something going on if numbers are so close to the "official" ones.

And the site is only getting more and more accurate as time goes on.
