Forums - Sales - Nintendo floods the market with Wii?

BTW, counting the Wiis. I come up with a grand total of just above 300.

Are you seriously still on about this?

/sigh

OK, first there is no way the Wiis in the first 4 pics add up to "just above 300".  We have ~125 in pic 1, 37 in pic 2, ~22 pic 3, and ~46 in the last pic for a total of ~230 give or take 6.  And that count assumes there aren't any missing from behind the rows of pic 4 (ie due to "facing the product") or missing from the back side of stacks.

Your second set of pics from July 3rd only shows around ~100 units

These are the facts right now:
- July 2nd you took pics of at most 236 units at the media market.
- July 3rd you took pics of ~100 units at the Media market.
- You said you didn't physically count on July 2nd.
- You now say you physically counted presumably on July 3rd or 4th (today).
- Your count is claimed to have reached a total that was greater than 300.
- You never gave a specific result of your count, which would be the most obvious piece of information to posess when aquiring an accurate detailed count as it is by definition the very goal.

Don't put words into my mouth, I didn't count them manually. I count the units in the pictures. I just made a rough estimate in the original post.

First day I took pictures of ~208 Wiis, like I said that was the bulk of Wiis while stating there were more in the corners and other places.

- First picture 126

- Second picture 37

- 21 to 25 in the 3rd picture

- about 31 in the fourth.

- 92 in fifth and sixth picture (same stack, difficult pictures to take as there was reconstruction going on next to this).

- 6 in the last one.

~ 308 - 312 Wii units in total.

What are you trying to tell me exactly?  That you counted more units today/yesterday than you took pics of on July 2nd?  That when you counted you came up with 3x as many units as you took pics of?  Was your camera full of memory?  I mean I would personally get every last Wii on camera if I felt people were doubting me

See at the beginning of the thread I gave you the benefit of the doubt, but now facts aren't adding up.

Boy oh boy....

It must be really hard for you to acknowledge or provide credit.

Ok I missunderstood what you meant then in terms of counting.

Either way, you are yourself saying you got 208 on day 1, and 98 on day 2 from the same location.

Boh oh boy it must be really hard for you to comprehend what is written. I already acknowledged that there were more than I thought there were going to be, but that doesn't change the fact that there weren't 300..hell it wasn't even close.

Maybe its time for you to acknowledge that I was right that you exaggerated. Lets remind everyone of the first page:

Wiis in stock in large quantity I believe, but I don't for a second buy that there are 300 of them. During X-mas some of the largest retail outlets in the US didn't get 300 units. Sounds like they had a lot of units and you exaggerated the amount a bit?

A bit exaggerated? I don't think so.

But the PS3s were easier to count.

The red parts tell the whole story folks.

@ Sqrl

Ironically, I actually hope Mike is right that there are 300 Wiis there...it bodes VERY well for the holidays =)

I estimate the shops I visited in total had well over 500 Wii. Wiis were behind counters, in a cellar, etc. Most shops don't have the precious shelf space to have them all on display at once like at Media Markt.

Some stats with regard to the city I live in:

"Groningen is the capital city of the province of Groningen in the Netherlands. With a population of 185,000, it is by far the largest city in the north of the Netherlands. Groningen is a University city with more than 45,000 students."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groningen_(city)

Biggest company here is the Gasunie:

Groningen has various hospitals, but the academic hospital is the most important in the North of the Netherlands. An excellent place to study for medical students.

I don't doubt there were 500 amongst half a dozen shops, maybe even as few as 3 or 4. Your area is clearly well supplied. I've never once doubted the state of supply, only the ridiculous amounts at a single location. Which again if true are a good thing imo...

Well, that explains it! You said your girlfriend is studying for an exam, which means all those students are probably doing the same thing. After they finish their exams, they'll buy all the Wiis ;)

Are we still counting those Wiis? Has anyone went back to that store and taken pictures again?

Because I live nearby I visit the store quite regulary (about once a week, for printer cartidges, other office stuff, games, etc.), I'll let you know if they run out of stock. But I'm not going to take pictures again.

Why?

It seems like a very simple thing to do.

I was suprised by the huge amount of stock available at Media Markt as well, hence I started this thread. Duh..

In any case you just acknowledged I may have been right in the original post. Let's just leave it at that and I hope in the future you don't try to make fun of me with weird pictures.

Simple, yes. But taking a camera with me and uploading the pictures is still a hassle.

And because this was intended to be a nice informative light-hearted little thread of interest with regard to available stock of the Nintendo Wii in my city, knowing there are many Wii fanboys using this forum, but frankly anymore than I have already done so far is well enough.

And I am not really interested enough to keep track. The Wii and PS2 are fun little consoles and everything, but...

300 Wii's on a single store? Why would they ship that much to 1 store only?

Unfortunately, you rely on others to tell you what is "good". Enjoy your mindless repetitions of GTA4, the "greatest game ever made".

Too bad most of those reviews are written by skewed fanboys, themselves, or you might make some kind of point.

 Wtf are you talking about?!?

Hmmm...taking the pcitures we know is easy.

Uploading...piece of cake.  Embedding them....even easier.

Light hearted?  From you...I don't think you roll that way.
