Forums - Nintendo - Snake on the Wii

Snake is a playable char in Brawl. I think that's the biggest hint that a Metal Gear game will be hitting the Wii very soon.

As soon as E3? Possibly.

We know Nintendo are going to announce some big titles.

Nintendo also didn't pull-a-GTA4 on MGS4 release. Perhaps, to give it some spotlight?

I agree. Metal Gear Golf: Everybody Wins is rumoured to be in the making for the Wii.

Or perhaps because they have no games ready to release :P

I seriously doubt we'll see Metal Gear on the Wii.

Uhh, Kojima pretty much begged for Snake to be in Melee but it was late in development so he was included in Brawl instead. Besides, why miss the chance to motivate MGS fans who own a Wii to buy the game?

That said, Nintendo probably didn't send supply for the MGS4 launch because MGS4 does not appeal to the average Wii buyer and they were probably preparing shipments for the Brawl launch in PAL.

It's the other way around: Kojima begged Sakurai.

But that's really a moot point, isn't it? Kojima has stated fairly clearly that he doesn't think Metal Gear fits with the Wii audience, and I agree with him.

you never know

before I read this, I thought someone was remaking that snake game where you eat dots and you snake grows larger...LOL

Whoops, sorry, made a mistake. Let me go back and edit.

There really isn't any evidence behinds Snake being in Brawl, so I highly doubt it. I think you would see Metal Gear on the 360 before you saw it on the Wii.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
