Forums - Sony - Soul Calibur 4 (PS3) - 6.7 GB Install + 2 GB Save

The save file has to be a typo. I've never heard of a game needing 2 gigs for a save file.

And that's the biggest install on the system to date. even bigger than MGS4s. This site also doesn't hold enough stock for me to believe it. I'll wait until Namco confirms this.

I feel sorry for any launch 20gig users. If they want this game they either have to upgrade or say goodbye to half their HD!!

That said i'm betting this'll be debunked as a rumor/typo soon enough. At least I hope it will....

They can sell their PS3 to me... and then i can dump a nice big 200 Gig HD in it.

This just sounds... stupid to me.  It doesn't even seem possible.

can someone read japanese as most of the page doesn't translate

This is what yesasia cites as it's source

Considering the game could be no bigger then 8.5 Gigs, 6.7 Gigs is a huge f'in amount

this doesn't make sense

Looks like 360 owners will be making sandwiches also.

Soul Calibur IV on 360 Requires Hard Drive
56 The Xbox 360 Version of Soul Calibur IV will require the Hard Drive for Xbox 360. This along with the huge install on the PS3 version really makes you wonder about how much optimization Namco Bandai is putting into the game. Its unfortunate for Core/Arcade owners and for 20GB PS3 owners or those reaching the limit of their HD space on both consoles.

So does the 360 Version have an install as well? Or does it just need an HD to play it?

WOW SCIV possibly lost alot of sales of core-360 owners. Wow, 6gb install is pretty ridiculous for a fighter, 2gb save, WOW.

if this is true, this really is getting out of hand.

Seriously, what the hell is this? Sony, get Naughty Dog to teach these idiots how to do it right.  Beautiful graphics, no loading, and no installs is the only proper way to do things.

That picture says it all!  ROFL!!

But yeah, how can Uncharted do it perfectly, but SC4 can't.  >_>

And i thought the 128 blocks Smash Bros required was bad, damn
