Forums - Sony Discussion - Soul Calibur 4 (PS3) - 6.7 GB Install + 2 GB Save

It says nothing about a 360 install just that you need a hard drive which probably means for online play.

Or the save file (Which probably is above 256Mb...)...

Only gamers that are screwed this gen are 360 owner's. Atleast PS3 owners have the choice of upgrade there hard drives with reasonably price standard 2.5" drives. i've just upgraded my PS3 too 320Gb for only 74 pounds.

Keep drinking the cool-aid bro. Any 360 owner can easily get buy with a 20gb model, no problems.

So I guess we can just add that 100 bucks for a new HD to the standard cost of a PS3?

When we get down too it, there was a reason Microsoft imposed a limit on game installs. To stop this sort of thing from happening.

What are we to assume? That the game just can't load fast enough off a BR disc?

Look at DMC4. The loading differences are negligable yet there is a huge install requirement.

When 360 owners don't have to install anything most of the time, but get the same game, whose the one getting screwed.

Now, as for this game requiring an install on the 360, all I can say is it better not be very large, and it probably won't be. However, if it excludes arcade players, then that sucks.

Still, in general, PS3 owners get screwed over on installs far more often.

though i'm pro sony and hate microsoft i have to agree. i hate those fucking isntalls. my 40 gigs down to its last 5gig of space. and i dont feel like deleting an install and having to just install it to play a game.

plus, i call bs on the x360 needing an hdd. this would exclude a lot of arcade users and M$ wont allow that.

now if that were true, that would suck even more. if i owned an x360 and really had to have this game, and if i were willing to go out and buy an hdd i'd expect it to be used for an install not for online play.

I'm so glad I own a Wii. Its the world's last game console. Just put in the game and play. :) I'm betting this one of the biggest reasons Nintendo chose a 512mb limit on usable memory.

So now only having 512mb of internal memory is a good thing?  I don't think even many Wii owners would agree with you there.

Looks like PS3 owners are going to start running out of space faster than Wii owners.

i kid!

Nah, you can just delete the install files once you are done messing around with the game.  None of the PSN games are very big except for Warhawk and GT5 Prologue.  I would complain about it more if I ran into space problems, but I really have had next to none minus me wanting to put as many extra AVI files on my PS3 that I can fit.  But I could just as easily get a bigger hard drive if my space problems have been major, which they haven't.

the fuck are they saving?

Jeezus, 2g is like....10 episodes of anime....or 5 hours of porn....I just don't see how a save could take up that much space.

rofl!

I didnt even bother to read the links to see if this is right but I doubt it. I'll wait for an official announcement.

yeah, no advantage either way, except the PS3 comes always with a HDD, and the 360 doesnt, so if there is an install on both versions as the leak is saying over at kotaku, then actually the game is more appealing on the PS3.

Though I wont buy anything that requires almost 7 gigs of stuff to be installed on my system with a 2 gig save file. Dare I say, I boycott it.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

This space Reserved for the Nuggets of Wisdom dropped by Bladeforce:

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

6.7GB install. They are putting the whole game on the hard drive, no doubt about it. That's what PC games do. Won't have to worry about the delay of the Blu-Ray drive at all. The up side is that the game should load very fast on the PS3, the downside is the large space it takes up on the much smaller console hard drive. I do think it is pretty stupid for a fighting game though.

I give this thread a 9.5.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

I do not believe the 2gb save file bit, not for one second
