Forums - Nintendo - Heartbreak, goodbye wii for 10 days :.(

So i was lucky enough to get my wii on launch day and since then i've acquired a collection of 28 wii games and loads of vc and wiiware games and played with my lil' white box for hundreds of hours. finally one of my most anticipated games ever arrived on 27th june, that game...... super smash bros' brawl. I went and picked the game up asap and tore open the wrapper and read the instructions with a nice cuppa and a ciggy (my new game ritual) I proceeded to make my way upstairs and turned on my wii, ejected okami and inserted the brawl disk. I plugged my nunchuck into my mote and sat and waited for the game to pop up on the game channel but alas.... nothing. I tried and tried again, i blew into the disk slot but still, nothing. My mood dropped Instantly, i had a DIRTY LENSE.

i WAS IN ALL SORTS OF DESPAIR........ I blamed the fact i smoke copious amounts of cigs round my wii and blasphemed towards the tobacco god, DAMN YOU, I said. Dejected i rung my friend for support and the little star offered to lend me his wii, yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I have booked this week off work to play brawl so i was elated.

Anyways on to now, i've played 30 plus hours of brawl since that tragic day and have just recently got off the phone from nintendo and they're cleaning my wii free of charge but more bad news, i gotta send in my brawl disk aswell, gutted! I don't know how i'm gonna cope after sampling brawls awesomeness and aswell as that all my game saves apart form gc games are linked to my "faulty" wii. all my unlocked mario kart data and my half through 3rd play of twilight princess.

I know it's not the be all and end all but i'm gutted, especially after booking the week off work for brawl, i reckon i'm gonna buy another copy then sell it on ebay when i get mine back in 10 working days from now.

So goodbye little white box and godspeed, i'll be seeing you soon........ sniff!!!

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

A week off work to play brawl??? Good lord, you are hardcore

I wonder if you love your Girlfriend as much as your Wii... :)

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

If you have a sd memory card can't you save all your games onto that, ready for when you get your Wii back? Then you could play all your games again without losing anything?

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I have a suggestion: Put Okami right back in the Wii's drive and keep playing.

Sigh.

I can actually feel your pain. The same thing happened to me. By the way, Nintendo claims that you shouldn't lose your saved data. If it just a lens problem, then there's no reason to touch the HD.

On the other hand...

I did get a PS3 today for MGS4...

Nevertheless...

I feel like I'm somehow betraying my Wii. LOL.

There's actually a sort of love triangle going on between myself, my fiance and my wii, sometimes i feel she loves no more heroes more than she loves me.......sob!

I was actually thinking about starting okami again on my friends wii, also i may play majoras mask again, thank god gc memory cards are compatible with the wii instead of having gc saves internally.

yeah that's what they said, thank god for that, i'm currently in the process of backing all my save data up to my sd card.
