Perhaps, there should be a thread on "Adjustments made last week"

Shouldn't be surprising. With the huge success of DS in E/O, Wii obviously will follow. But to hear anyone say ninty fans can't celebrate this increase in sales when PS3 fans acted like dictators during MGS4 week. No cram and let them say what the want. Seriously the people on this forum have freedom of speech issues.

As for the sales Wii and DS prove what large brand appeal does: it generates monstorous sales at any chance there is for increased marketing. AKA SSBB release. PS3 however proves that once a brand gets that high, that it's hard to knock off, as it and in a way PSP, are still living off that brand that the PS1 and PS2 built.

As for SSBB sales, 400k(the estimate right now) is pretty good. I mean later release didn't help it and 2 days of release obviously isn't going to yield monstorous sales like it did in the other regions where it had a full week out. I mean MGS4 was out for 3 days and was just under 500k to give an example. I don't think people should be that disappointed.

As for Italy and Spain, there is a confliction of brands. Both the Playstation and Nintendo brand are huge. However I'm going to have to go with the brand that is still increasing in appeal, that being the Nintendo brand. While it can only go up, on the opposite the Playstion one can only go down, which it has. Not to mention Wii Fit seems to be pretty big in those respective areas. However you really never know down the line as brand appeal changes all the time.

seriously, you guys should already be used to see these wii numbers, it happens each time they ship enough consoles. There's nothing unbelievable about it anymore.. It's the norm really.

Wii isn't supposed to be supply constrained in Europe anymore...

Or so i thought.

Look at the Wii sales in the United Kingdom. My jaw was dropping. That said, Sony needs to shove Nintendo out of Spain and Italy.

They do need to...but I don't see it happening. Worse case scenario nintendo plays a tight second fiddle to the PS3.

I see it happening. It was only a short while ago that Sony safely ruled their respective territories. Things should be back to normal soon enough, nothing has really changed.

It certaintly is interesting... when you look at the similar cultural things the Spanish and Italians have in common.

Then again there always seem to be wii's around Leo-J in Miami and Korea was doing well for PS3.

Maybe there is just something about penninsula's that cause massive PS3 sales.

I understand you're using 2 days as a gauge with the rest of the world, but games launch in Japan on fridays, and the week is over on Sunday, and SSBB sold 850k in Japan in it's launch week in those few days.

Yes I see what your saying.  IN Japan SSBB released on a Thrursday, thus it was out for 4 days(Japan tracks through Sunday).  So 2x the days out, 2x the sales, theoretically of course.   As for America, out for 7 days, generation 1.6 million.  E/O out for 2, generated 400k thereabouts.  Almost that 1/4 ratio.  So theoretically it would have been pretty even given of course if it was constant.  But I think generally speaking, if SSBB had been out in E/O for the full 7, it probably would have got about 600k-700k, which does show lag behind the others. And for the reason I suggested being the later release and some negative hype from the states about the online, ect.
