Of course there's going to be a Link game at E3, Link's Crossbow Training. But that's it for a couple of years.

Why would they show an already released game.

It's been a long time Since TP was completed, the new Zelda has at the very least 2 years of development time behind it (possibly 3).

If it's already been in development for 2 yrs, then yea it makes sense. Not to mention Nintendo has done this before with Zelda games. Show them off well before there release.(Zelda:TP at E3 2004)

Again, if it uses the TP engine, it will require much less development time.

Why would it use the TP engine? Knowing Nintendo, they'd want to make a new Wii Zelda use a better engine than the engine used on their console before.

Personally, I think a new Wii Zelda will use a new engine and look better than SMG!

There is no need to. THe architectures of the gc and wii are so similar any engine created for the previous would work well on the latter, and take its potential. I could see them just tweaking the engine to benefit from the wiis advantages. Smg got it's own engine, because it had to be developed around specific worlds, and random objects in space.

Haven't they used a different Zelda engine for every gen? >_> I don't see why they coudn't make a new one. Also, remember they said TP would be the "last Zelda of its kind." Who knows, they might innovate farther than youm might think and use a new engine would have to be used.

Well TP used the windwaker engine, so whatever they inovate I'm sure they could use it. Also when people want developers to make wii specific engines, those developers are usually using ps2 engines, or ports. TP used alot of what made/makes the wii and the gamecube strong. They should just tweak it to make use of what the wii has over the gamecube. So, yes they could make a new engine, but it wouldn't make sense because the Wii has an upgraded architecture to the gamecube, and compared to previous generations the wii isn't too much of an upgrade to the gamecube(even though it is one).

If it is a Zelda game, I hope it's that crazy one that was mentioned here once where it's more about someone that thinks they're bLink living in a steam-punk type fantasy world.  It would make for a good post-modern Zelda experience.

With the Wii the big thing that I would like to see for it still is more of them in stores.  Because, I see here on the charts that it says the Wii sells in astronimcal amounts compared to the PS3 and 360, yet all this time after it's release, and I still haven't seen one in a store where I could just walk in and purchase one.  There never seem to be any Wii's in my local Wal~Marts.  I was at a local Gamestop and they had Wii boxes, so I asked them if they had them for sell, and at GameStop, they just said that there boxes were only for display purposes and they didn't have any for sell.  Just a month ago, I heard employees at my nearest Best Buy telling a customer they hadn't had any Wii's in stock since it was released, so I have no idea how the Wii can be selling so well when it seems impossible to find one in a store.  Anyway, I hope the situation changes sometime because I do want to add a Wii to my gaming collection at some point in time.

Umm...didn't they use a different engine for SNES Zeldas? If yes, you call the NES-SNES graphics transition big? If they've done it every gen...why not just make another one? I want my new cel-shaded (well...I hope the next one is :P) Zelda to use a different engine dammit. I also expect a new Zelda to look better than SMG - some "tweaked" TWW/TP engine won't cut it.

Yes considerabely, and they had more of a difference in arc

hitectures than the wii does with the GC. Also yes a tweaked Tp engine could produce graphics better than SMG, on upgraded hardware.

Here is a comparison between nes and snes.

There's no use arguing with someone who wants a DK game made by Retro...*sigh*

I still expect a new engine. We could make a bet later.

Lol I already have 3 bets going right now, and I'm only saying that it is possible to push the wii's hardware with TP's engine. Unless the engine is highly unoptimized I could see them still using it.

Umm the second screen isn't SNES it's GC... It's Four Swords Adventures.
