Whoa, that site is reading my mind. How's that possible? Is there any logical explanation?

What do you mean with "read the thread"? That makes my head hurt.

ok. the site asks you to pick any two digit number. (we'll pick 46) then it asks you to add the two digits in the number together (4+6=10) and subtract the rsult (10) from the original number (46-10=36), Then, on the next page, it shows a list of numbers with symbols by them. However, each symbol stands for more than one number. Since the answer to the question will always be a multiple of 9, all the site has to do is make the same symbol stand for all the availible multiples of 9 and it will always be correct.

for proof that the answer will always be amultiple of nine, I'll show a few more examples"

Number = 62.

6+2=6.

62-8=54.

9*6=54

Number = 96.

9+6=15

96-15=81.

9*9=81

Number = 11.

1+1=2

11-2=9.

9*1=9

See?

You know, they don't make it very clear that you have to use the result of the subtraction to get this to "work". And what kind of mind reading is that anyway? I know eleven numbers, one of which was close to the one you were thinking of? I thought I was in for some serious next-next-gen gaming, but no.

?  eh...what?

People...you need to boost that reading comprehension.  If you can't follow the simple instructions of a flash game.....I have major concerns for your well being in the modern workforce.

Ah...how many have fallen?

And the beauty of it is...no matter how many fall prey to the wiles and cunning of the Austrailian, they keep coming back for more...and their love only grows deeper.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

For me, there was a lack of definition. They refer to "your number" in the last step, but I find that kind of vague. In the first step, they make a point of asking you to remember or write down a number, so I wrote mine down. Then in the second step, they ask you to subtract the sum of the number's digits from itself. I wrote the result of that down too. It then asks you to stare at the image corresponding to "your number". I had two numbers written down that qualified as a "your number", so I started with the first. There were a few reasons for this:
 - It specifically asks you to remember the original number
 - It claimed to be able to read your mind
 - Upon initially seeing the step, the elipsis at the end of the top sentence made it look like an interlude. I thought I'd play along and see what was next

Obviously, when the mind reading was done, failed to work and offered me another shot, I tried the modified number. They could have said "the result from the previous step" or something to that effect and cleared the whole matter up IMHO. You don't see how those instructions were vague? They're simple, yes, but badly worded. What was it in the text that made you choose your result and not your original number when you first played it?
