Gears of War 2 has not even been released yet. How could it be the Best Game of All Time? Gears of War 2 is just another shooter. Shooter genre is reaching market saturation. One in every two games released on PC/360 are shooters.

apart from the bolded sectence i couldn't agree more.

 

having said that i expect this game to sell a mad amount of copies...I dare  say on par with Halo3

Personally GOW 1 was awesome. And to this day is in top 3 of the gen on any console. Graphically GOW1 is the most balanced detailed game. Other games look good but have old textures here and there that look flat, including MGS4. But GOW Ive never seen one. The improvements in GOW2 will be seen more in the way of. 1. more enemies on screen. 2. Better lighting. 3. Physics and effects(such as water). 4. slightly more detailed textures. With that in mind I feel it would be safe to say that it will take the graphics crown. As it stands my top 3 Graphics this gen are as follows. And yes Ive played them all.


1. MGS4(not by much)
2. Gears
3. Bioshock

I know that some of you like Mario type games, I know that some of you like racer type games, I know that some of you like FPS type games, etc....

But for the hardcore gamer like me


Oh, so only people who like GoW or shooters or whatever you like, are hardcore gamers? :)

Gears of War 2 will not move much 360 hardware. The people who will buy Gears of War 2 will have already bought a 360 to play Gears of War, Halo 3, COD 4 and Bioshock and are waiting for the next AAA shooter title. 12 million XBox Live subscribers most of whom will be  online shooter addicts. XBox Live is the next World of WarCraft.

not possible. it might have a chance at getting a tied nod for the most hyped FPS ever after Resistance2 and before GoW3 and Resistance3, CoD5 etc. etc.

the FPS genre is killing itself. it's becoming terribly, terribly stale and boring.

you forgot to add..."and now are waiting for another AAA shooter to spend their money on". Roughly 10M FPS addicted have a x360 and GeOW2 will have no competition...

Although I appreciate your recognition that MGS4 looks the best, there are a lot of games that look better than Gears now. I've recently been playing Gears, and it doesn't look as good as CoD4, Uncharted, Ratchet, and most recent shooters.

man i wish games would focus more on gameplay and less on graphics.

hopefully the devs can manage to put a bit of both into upcoming titles instead of distracting from a lame game with flashy texturing.
