Don't bother ... Diomedes1976 has spent his entire time here claiming that the PS3 was undertracked while the Wii and XBox 360 are overtracked.

Certainly, everyone here is willing to accept that the numbers are not perfect and they will be adjusted as we have more accurate data come in (in particular in a couple of weeks we will probably see adjustments as quarterly data comes in) but Diomedes1979's constant complaining about the numbers demonstrates that he is just in denile about the state of the sales of the systems.

PS3 falls below the 100k hardware mark in Others- ouch!

Next week PS3 HW sales could be only 10k in front of 360 HW sales in Others.

It's just that when most fanboys cry, the don't actually blame VGChartz in the process.

In fact, discussing if the Wii is under-tracked, particularly in America the way Diomedes has attempted to detract and misdirect from the subject of this post, certainly falls under the "off topic posting" guidelines.

Now, I understand why someone with a FFXIII avatar wouldn't wanna discuss PS3's poor performance(which is in your head, as the PS3 is actually performing quite well). However, if everytime the PS3 performed poorly compared to expectations, we all started flaming VGChartz for undertracking the PS3, things would be chaos. Much less if we got off on to the completely unrelated tangent of how the Wii is overtracked. Surely you understand that.

Now, Diomedes has said that he's not making numbers up, and that the Wii/Canada figures for NPD don't match VGChartz exactly. However, he uses an estimate of "about a million units." If he wasn't making numbers up, he would have exact figures. I could expose his slander better if I actually read it, but it's obviously fanboy excuses, damage control, and an attempt to discredit anyone that says the PS3 isnt' selling like hotcakes, which is basically everyone that tracks any PS3 console numbers.

But, when Fishyjoe responds that Nintendo's own shipped numbers, which VGChartz uses to determine its sales much more than NPD adjustments, say that Nintendo has shipped just about the exact amount of units that VGChartz has determined they have shipped, and that's the official, infalliable, Nintendo numbers, straight from the shipping lanes, then you guys just don't have anything to say about that.

So, Diomedes hates the Wii, and the Xbox 360. There is no doubt about that. However, instead of just being a regular fanboy like everyone else, he has to be rude and hateful about it. Instead of accepting the numbers, from any source, he simply cannot believe that the 360 and the Wii are doing as well as they are, while the PS3 is doing so poorly, in his mind, that is.

Along with loving the PS3, he also believes that the 360 and the Wii are overtracked. He says, very rudely, that he's being generous to say that ioi's "guesses" are even educated.

Now, all your fanboyism, put it aside for one second. Look at the person you are defending. Look at the person you are defending, and what he is doing. Now make up your mind on who is the hero and who is the villian here. Now make up your mind on who you should really be flaming.

If you take anyones side who is a fellow PS3 fan, you might find yourself with some poor company.

Talking shit about VGChartz on the VGChartz forum is not a good idea on it's own. It's also inappropriate to criticize the numbers, especially for a "veteran" member. We all know what the numbers are, and as for hardware VGChartz does a pretty good job. Calling the numbers less than an educated guess is in my mind a personal attack. The tone of that post is something I often see on neogaf. We don't need that negativity here. I think cheerleading against such posts is warranted.
