I'm replaying the game right now and I totally forgot that it's a faantastic game. I'm really impressed again. I guess the kinda negative vibe around this game made me forget it's greatness.

Billy Coen is a hero, much cooler than any other RE character, the graphics are very good (sure it's pre rendered) and the story is as wicked as all the other RE's.
It's a little bit easier than REmake (thank God, that game is HARD) but still the puzzles are tough and surviving is by no means a piece of cake.

Great game! I love the vibe in this one and REmake. Better than RE4 to be honest. But RE4 controlled very good, we can't really say that of the "tank" controls in the pre-rendered RE's.

Can't wait for 5!

Well, by the time it hit the series had worn out it's welcome, at least for me. I had just recently plaid REmake and Code Veronica, which are superior imo, and it just felt like more of the same. The train segment was the only thing I found interesting. Didn't dig the mansion rehash.

Just something about the whole game felt kind of small, repetitive and weaksauce. Not what I would call bad though.

Because it never came out on the Playstation 2. :P

Personally I don't *hate* it. Is just my least favorite RE so far (I haven't played Code veronica nor Umbrella chronicles yet).

I didn't liked the idea of using 2 characters at the same time and leaving items on the floor. Is probably the shortest RE I have played yet and the story doesn'tr add very much to the "zombie" RE arc.

I did liked the atmosphere, the music and the 1st act in the train a lot. That's why I still keep it in my collection.

The resident evil games I do like from the best to not that much are in this order:

1. Resident evil 2
2. Resident evil 4
3. Resident evil (remake)
4. Resident evil 3
5. Resident evil 0

I enjoyed it, it was one of my first purchases on my Game Cube at the time. I have always loved the RE franchise, so for me it wasnt a rehash. It is still a great game, and now that you have brought it up, I may pick it up for cheap at Game Stop, thanks for the post.

I haven't played, but as far as I know the enviroments are prerendered... other than that according to you the game is easier than REmake?? I really loved REmake for the challenge, if I can find one I might give it a try...

I really hate the fact that RE2 and RE3 have such bad graphics. That gen hasn't aged very well graphically. as a result I really can't stand to play those anymore. Code Veronica is ok, but ugly compared to REmake and Zero.
I really hope for a remake of 2+3. I don't care on which console, but Wii controls would be nice, I'd love a little more tention though. RE4 is great, but it's a shooterfest and I'm afraid RE5 will be even more.

It's not bad.. but after Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, Remake.. Zero was just the same but with prettier graphics... and the controls where the same as in 1 2 3 & that in 2003!! Ugh.. It was like playing the same game again.. and you knew what would happen to Rebbeca.. and then came RE4.. and we were all happy!!

I've been meaning to pick this one up since the Wii can play Gamecube games.

It looks like a good game to me. I'm not a big fan with the direction of the series. I love the slow moving zombies with the occasional dog or mutated zombie to throw in a challange.

Resident Evil 4 has been a big disappointment to me. I've probably put about 5 hours into that game. I might go back to it after I play REzero.
