PSN started a subscription fee for Qore stuffs like demos and videos, which are available for free on Xbox live. Xbox Live charges you for multiplayer. So, it's your choice to decide whether Multiplayer fees or Demo/video fees are more ripping you off.

On top of the mentioned Xbox live and PSN stuffs, I believe the XBox Live Graphical interface is much more friendly than the PSN. Media Center for streaming contents from PC is really simple too.

I'm not sure whether the following option is xbox live exclusive, but Live has full parental controls.

 No thats complete bull $hit.

QORE does not charge you for vidoes or demos.. its like paying for a magazine.

And no demos are not FREE if you want them immediately on XBOX LIVE.

Qore isn't like paying for a magazine, it is like playing for Sony's marketing.  Magazine's provide some of their own content and are supposed to be a impartial (although it doesn't seem to always work out that way) 3rd party for news and reviews.  1st party news, previews, and reviews are marketing.  Demos are also marketing.  I think it's hilarious that some people will pay to view marketing materials that are normally free.

I give that post a 9.3.

Qore is exactly like paying for a magazine. The PSN has not changed at all and will feature it's own content FREE.

I;m not going to argue about Qore as I'm in class but frankly you need to wake the freak up and smell the coffee if you dont realize it is a virtual magazine.

Well, basically:

- Cross game invites
- Cross game private chatting
- More content
- Better features in games (CoD4, for example has dedicated leaderboard servers, so your friends don't have to be online to see their stats).
- More leaderboards (CoD4 on 360 has leaderboards for the Arcade mode, for example).

- The ability to see exactly what gametypes and maps people are playing (You can go over a friend in your friendslist and it will say "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Headquaters on Shipment")
- Cross game messaging
- Universal friends lists
- More DLC
- Achievements
- Player zones
- MSN Messenger support
- Headset standard with Premium and Elite consoles.

- Custom soundtracks.

Bold = 2.40 and upcoming features through in-game XMB or can somewhat already

Italic = coming

Underline = who cares?

I agree that MSN support is cute for some but not for most.  I think the included headset with the 360, and ease of setup and use, has contributed a lot to the 360's rep as the best online console.  I expect Sony will include a headset with the next console.  It's a good strategy.

I give this post a 9.4.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

It took me upwards of four hours to make streaming work on the Xbox, it took me 10 minutes to do the same on the PS3 with Tversity. The problem is that Xbox forces you to use streaming only with the Windows Media player 11, it takes a lot to work around that and use a media server of your own (Tversity). Also there is the well known problem of Xbox only running WMA files.

What are you talking about? All the demos that I checked out on the PSN last night were free.

The PS3 rocks in that all the themes and wallpapers are completely free. I wanted to install the Mass Effect theme in my Xbox but I am not willing to pay $$ for that (its not free). I have got the MGS4 theme installed on my PS3.

I think the idea of a Web browser in the PS3 is frikiin awesome, I watched Youtube videos in that.

All the above positive points about XBL, pounted out by other members are true. But I am pissed at paying $3 to rent a movie for only one day.

I think the tv show collection in Xbox is great, and u can buy them for quite cheap.

In short the XBL is great, if you got money to spend. The PSN is awesome in the stuff that it gives to you for no cost at all.

You're too lenient with your ratings.

I'd give that post a 7.2

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Obviously you haven't tried it yet.

That's the one big problem with people, they like to talk about stuff they have never tried or seen.

So, Sony, makers of the PS3, are going to charge you to see exclusive news on games for the PS3.  So, you get to pay Sony to see material that is intended to have you buy Sony products or licensed products.  Marketing.

I give that post a 9.2.

Xbox Live has communication down to a T. You can talk in game, in movie, whatever you're doing. You can also send an invite to a game at anytime on any game or place. It's way more unified. PSN isn't that user-friendly. I get a dark feeling when playing on PSN, not every has a headset on PSN.

xbox live is currently better because P2P online games work more robust, and has more content to sift through on the market place.

psn on the other hand has many dedicated servers for games which work brilliantly, has a better online store and is free.

overall xbox live is the more robust package, but psn is free and works perfectly well with the games i play

psn>live especailly after 2.4 update

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Well you know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

If XBL is not better why do you think Sony is copy all the bullet points for PSN.

They are copy Gamercards, Gamerscore, achievements. They are doing in game XMB (XBL dash), in game soundtrack and in game chat. They are also going to copy community feature like cross game invite, may be friend list ?

But anyway, all these features are available already on XBL not to mention mountain of contents. All the arcade game demo, free movies (mostly crappy), rental movies, free demo, not to mention trailers ...

As for XBL being more laggy, I don't know what you guys pulling that bull-crap from. I play GT5P and it's no better than racing game on 360. The on-line feature of GT5P is pretty weak, bumper car mayhem not to mention the lack of invite and match up so you end up playing with random jerck that going backward on the track. I don't have COD4 on PS3 but on 360 it play just fine.

@SSJ

Just because you don't care about the features dosn't mean it's not a feature.  You are a fricking mod for crying out loud stop acting like a troll.

Blu-ray is a great feature on PS3 and I used it all the time.  Some might not care for it but it still is a great feature.  Would you have remove that as "feature" because some might said they don't like watching movie on a "gaming" system.

Please grow up and act like a mod if you are going to be one.

Qore IS a magazine, I don't even know why you're trying to argue this point, Sony has always said that you'd have to pay for some premium content on the PSN but the core of the PSN (online play) would remain free. OT To me the things XBL does better are achievements (it extends the life of the game) and contend (games, movies, trailers etc). Honestly I couldn't care less about in game xmb but I admit that's a cool feature. Trophies are coming on 2.4, hopefully they'll be well implemented and most games will support it. Music, movies and TV shows are coming this year to the PSN supposedly but what really gets me is that Sony could be pounding Live on the games contents. PSOne classics is only really good in Japan and we barely get updates here. Also introducing PSTwo classics would be sweet. Anyways IMHO those are the 2 key areas that I think Live is better than the PSN.
