Forums - Sony - More MGS4 bundles coming

http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-160832.aspx

Well if they keep coming out with bundles then I expect this game to keep selling. The bundles were in high demand before so lets see if they can keep selling PS3's.

Well I hope it comes outside of America. Look at Japan. About half the games sold this week were bundled MGS games. So if the bundles sold out there it should give it a nice boust. I think they didnt know how good this bundle would sell so there making more.

I wonder if Sony and Konami have an agreement,as to how many copies of MGS4 they can bundle. After all, these games are not free.

^well sony probably gives them money for bundling it

Yeah. That's why they must have a set agreement.Sony doesn't want to keep paying all that money.

They probably do but keep in mind than bundling allow them to skip the retailer high margin on software and take advantage of the low margin on hardware.

They bypass the software supply chain too which probably saves another $ or 2...( there's not distributor involved or other third party).

Add all that and my guess each bundled game costs at most 40$. Add probably some kind of agreement they have with Konami and I woudn't be surprised if in the end each bundled game was to cost them around 35$ or so ( the advantage for Konami being they don't have to take care of shipping the software either, it's all in the hands of Sony..)

So the customer saves 60$ but in the end the cost for Sony is only around 35$ ( around 10$ of which is their own licencing fee).

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

anyone think thats with these bundles this has a shot to beat GTA4(ps3)in sales?

Bundle is only going to give it a boost in NA. ( Others bundle sucks and Others had a GTA4 bundle too and I'm pretty sure those will be very limited in time as they don't include all the goodies that make the NA bundle so appealing).

In the end it's all going to depend how long they ship it and how many units, personally I doubt the bundle will last past september so I would say no...( don't forget GTA4 hasn't been released in Japan yet either and based on historical data should at least get an extra 200k from there...).

Motorstorm bundle did so well because it was available during the holydays. With the Sony exclusives coming around that time and before it ( RFoM2, LBP before that) I highly doubt Sony will still be bundling a third party exclusive during the holydays).

Probably, but I would have to look at weekly trends.GTA4 is a casual/hardcore game, attracting all kinds of people who call themselves gamers.MGS4 is indeed niche,in that it already has a hardcore following, but is not as mainstream and wouldn't appeal to the same consumers who buy GTA4.Time will tell though.
